Hello :flower:

I've booked a van with National in just over a week (great deals with those codes ... priceless and ent't coupon). Anyways ... we still haven't decided on whether we are bringing along our car seat for our youngest dd (19mos). If we decide to bring it, can I cancel the car seat upon pick up of the vehicle or do they need to know ahead of time?

Thanks :sunny:

I would bring your own seat. You don't know the history of the seat you are renting. It's also not a good idea to be learning how to use the seat correctly when you are trying to deal with everything else.

Bring your own, IMHO. Also, sometimes the minivans do have cars seats built in but not always.

I also say bring your own. For the price they charge to rent one, you could buy a whole new seat plus, as Safetymom pointed out, you don't know the history of the seat (whether or not it has been involved in an accident), how old it is etc. It probably won't be the cleanest seat either. :scared:

If your baby does not have a seat of their own on the plane, you could just put it in a duffle type bag and check it with your luggage, instead of carrying it on to the plane. If your DD does have a seat of her own, I highly recommend you bringing the seat on the plane and using it for her. At that age, it might be best to keep her confined to her seat during the flight. Usually kids will understand that being in the car seat means not getting out. It was the best decision we made when traveling with our youngest DD a few years ago. She knew she couldn't get out, just like in the car. It was a sanity saver!!
