Which car rental companies have a drop off area at the port? Flying in to FLL the day before our Miami cruise - thinking of renting that day, returning at port, then renting for trip back to FLL onn debarkation day. Any advice is well appreciated!

Oops, sorry. Missed the Miami part! I do not know about Miami!

Unless something has changed in the past couple of years there are no rental car facilities at the Miami Port.

We did the same as you a couple of years ago. Flew into FLL, rented a car there for one night and then the next day returned the vehicle to the MIA airport and took their free shuttle to the Port of Miami. Also did everything in reverse at the end of the cruise.

It may sound like a lot of hassle but it was actually very quick, easy and cheap. Rental car each way through Alamo was only around $30.

I use national. Also when dropping off at MIA, free shuttle to the port. Same on the return. Just have to show proof of reservation and paid receipt.

I had forgotten about that but Alamo was the same way. You either had to show a receipt or a rental reservation in order to get on the shuttle. I saw the drivers turn several people away.
