Ok so our trip is set for mid Jan. 2 weeks. We need a car because we are staying off-site the majority of the time. I am staying at the Radisson which is right on the NW corner of I4&Hwy535.
Our flight arrives around midnight and I would not be confident driving from the airport to the hotel.(am I just being a wuss?) So we were planning on just taking a cab/limo to the hotel for the night and getting the car in the morning. Time in all this is not that critical as we don't plan on entering the MK until late afternoon for an ADR @ CRT(can't remember the exact time..but dinner time).

So I have some ?'s regarding this matter.
a)Should I just suck it up and rent at the airport. Is there car rental desks operational at this late hour?
b)the Radisson has a car rental facility on site, should I just rent there?
c)there is an Enterprise at the 'Orlando World Marriot' across the highway from DTD(thank you google earth:)) which was my 1st choice for rentals because of their low prices and decent reviews here and elsewhere. Would you recommend this option.
d)none of the above(please explain)

I don't plan on booking car rental in advance....will I likely regret this?

Thanks again DISer's; and I promise this will be my last thread on rental cars....:rotfl2:

:thanks:

There should be way less traffic at that late hour, so a drive from the airport to the Radisson should be that much easier.
Rent the car at the airport--you'll then have it when you return to the airport as well.
And if you don't book in advance, you may well regret it.

Thanks a million for the response! :worship:

Even in mid Jan(7-21) you still think I should do advance booking?
You did I think convince me to rent via the airport, probably save myself a hundred bucks in taxi's

Thanks again UncleRom :)

I would book a car and prepay it. If you are getting in late, you will save yourself time by prepaying. You just grab your luggage and walk to the area where the cars are, pick one in the catagory you booked and away you go. That drive isn't bad at all. You will be fine.

Have a nice trip.

Rent the car by the time you pay for the cab you already paid for a one day rental. Check out some of the sites to get the best deals. I like sidestep.com.

I have run into a hiccup here...Because my flight does not arrive until 12:30am, the Enterprise desk is closed(closes@midnight). Will I be able to return the next morning to pick up the car?

Budget is open 24 hrs I see, but I find it a little ironic that Budget is about double the price of Enterprise...

Looks like Thrifty Car Rental is open 24hrs since I put in 1:00AM as pickup time on Jan 7th and there was no message indicating otherwise. They are located on site at the airport. For a Compact for 2 weeks rental for your dates Jan 7 -21 the total is $340.01 including taxes. Use the Orlando Magicard corporate code 004m001010 and it includes a free additional driver as well which is normally $10/day extra. You may want to print Magicard just in case they ask for it.

^^^Thanks webworm

I tried through expedia and they had rates comparable to that rate you just posted. Thrifty looks like a good option for me now.
