We are going to Disney 2/21-2/25 (4 1/2 days) so I have been checking car rentals daily. Out of control! All are nearly $300 or more! It is a supply/demand issue. a previous poster mentioned a conference with 30K attendees. There is the Princess Half Marathon during the weekend. Add this to president's week! The $100-200 rentals others are quoting are for different weeks.
I made a reservation months ago for National Emerald Aisle for $181. Even through it is a good rate relatively speaking, it is still a lot for a 4 1/2 day reservation. We are staying on Disney property, but have always rented a car. We are deciding of we want to try Disney transportation this trip and forgo the rental. I am still trying to justify it, perhaps doing a grocery trip and eating offsite a couple of times. I also like being able to keep extra clothes in the car and being able to lock up the laptops/iPads/iTouches in the trunk after we check out.
