Car Rental Return at Disney

We are planning a trip for approximately 10 people (ages=mid to late 20's) the last week of September/first week of October 2008. However, when we first arrive we will not be going to Disney. We will be traveling to Gainesville and then back to Orlando on the next day to begin our Disney vacation. After looking at prices, this seems to be the most reasonable solution.

Anyway, currently our plan is to rent a car in Orlando and drive to Gainesville and then return to Orlando. We plan to use Disney Transportation once we are on site.

I noticed there is a rental car drop off area on Disney Property. This seems to be the most likely/convenient choice. My question is if we decide to drop off the rental car at this location will there be transportation to the resort we are staying at onsite?

Alamo & National have pick-up and drop-off at S&D and CCC. If you select S&D, you will need to take WDW transportation to your resort or a taxi. You might want to check with the rental company, but I believe the CCC offers van service to your resort.

Also, be aware that these locations offer limited service hours--check the rental company for actual hours.

And most others are very close to DTD and we just bus from there to get and return the car.
