We usually stay on site, so this is the first time we are renting a car. We will be landing at Orlando Int'l, renting the car from ? then driving to Sanford for one night. We will then check in to ASMo the next night.:woohoo:

I've called my insurance company, and I'm covered for car rentals up to $50,000.

*I know the rental company will try to talk me into more coverage, can I just use my own policy realistically?

*Are they really thorough making sure there's no scratches etc... that may or may not have happened while it was in my possession? I've had someone tell me to take pics before I leave the lot.

For the tolls, I've been reading up on those posts, so know I know I don't need one of those transponder things, and plan to pay cash. How much should I bring? A roll of quarters would be enough??

I want to rent at the airport and do my return at Disney, is there a gas station nearby to fill up before I return the car?

Thankyou all!

I have a GPS that I'll be bringing, so that will help.

If you have coverage, there is no reason to purchase additional coverage, and thus over-insuring yourself. If you're renting with one of the major company's there is no reason to bring proof of insurance either, smaller company's have different policies and may require you to purchase insurance coverage if you do not provide proof of coverage.

Many credit cards offer secondary coverage free of charge and AMEX offers a per-rental coverage for a small fee that is significantly less then rental car insurance coverage from a rental company and is primary.

Some companies are more thorough then others, with the smaller companies being more thorough then the big companies. It's always wise to take a good look over your car and take pictures of damage that is significant. Small door dings (ie. door hitting car), small scratches on trunk bumper, etc. are usually no issue, regardless.

Should be more than sufficient.

Depending on the agency, there are locations often very close by.

If you're returning on site, there's a few Hess stations on the Disney grounds with fairly competitive gas prices. One right next to the Car Care Centre if you're returning there.
