Car Rental Question..

Hi everyone.. This will be our first time to Disney/Florida and we are staying off-site, so we will need to rent a car..
My question is, when you go to the car rental sites and reserve one, do they take your credit card info to hold it?? How does it work when you go to cancell it if you find another one cheaper?? I mean do you have till a certain time to cancell with out penalty or charges to your credit card?
Does everyone just keep cancelling and reserving till real close to your departure date?
Any tips for reserving? Do most of you find better deals with coupon codes or without?

I have a ressie booked on Alamo--it's the best price I could find for our Feb. '06 trip. We only needed it for 1 day...I ended up reserving for 3 days/Compact for $89 (including all taxes, etc) at the CCC near MK. I am using a coupon that I have from the Entertainment book. I didn't provide a credit card to hold my reservation and I booked it online.

I would recommend you check out www.mousesavers.com for deals/codes. Also, if you belong to AAA, Costco, etc. you can use those codes.

Good luck! The prices have been really high lately...I would book now and keep looking for something better--you can always cancel and rebook at a better price. Although, I wouldn't book this early using Alamo's 15% off prepaid deal--I believe that there is a fee for changes/cancellations.
