Car Rental or Shuttle?

We have booked a trip to DL for the end of June and I am not sure what is the best option for transportation. I would appreciate any insight you have!

- We arrive on the Saturday the 22nd at 5pm.
- Staying at Doubletree in Orange (free hourly DL shuttle), does have parking fee
- Spending Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in the parks
- Flight departs at 7pm on Wednesday night. (we have a 4 day hopper, so I think we will be spending part of this day in the parks...if we do not rent a car, I am not sure how this would work logistically with having to check out of the hotel before noon and not having a car to leave the luggage in for the day)
- we have a 3 and 6 year old so renting a car means bringing our car seats.
- my husband loves to drive and is not intimidated by LA traffic
- I am not sure that we want to do anything besides the parks on this super short trip, but my 3 year old will not lie down for a nap so taking a short drive in the afternoon might be the only way he will nap. This isn't a big deal for us as my husband loves to drive and explore.

Thank you!

If all you're really doing is Disneyland, my suggestion is just take the shuttles. If you have a car, you have the parking fee at the hotel, parking fee at the DL, plus you have to deal with purchasing gas. On your 4th day on Wednesday, you can check your bags with the bell desk, and they can hold them until you're ready to leave from the hotel to the airport. If you are so inclined to explore, you could do a 1-day car rental.

As for car seats, you could also rent them from the car rental place, based on availability of course. Last I checked, with Super Shuttle if you didn't have car seats, you had to let them know in advance that you would need one for your child. The big bus they offer I believe does not require car seats, but if I were you, I would call and check with them directly.

Also, I don't think that your 6 year old will need a car seat if they are 60 lbs. or more, they just can't ride in the front seat.

Happy Travels :)
