Car Rental -Less Than Week

Does anyone know how to get the best car rental rate for for less than 1 week? We will only need a car for 4 days. It seems renting a car for one week is less expensive than renting for 4 days. If I get a weekly rental, is there a penalty for an early return?

Some agencies will recompute your rate if you don't keep the car for the entire rental period. Not really a penalty, just charging you the correct rate.

Price around. 5 days is frequently enough to qualify for the weekly rate and 2 hours is usually enough to bump your rate an extra day. In other workd 4 days plus 2 hours is enough for a weekly rate with some agencies. An alternative is try different coupons combinations. A free day coupon will usually get you good rates.
