Hi looking for tips in renting a car or van at MCO we have split ressies WDW & Vero (4 days)! Family of 4(2 little ones) looking for big enough car for 6'6" hubby, convenience from luggage area, and of course price! We've tried DCC but about $400! TY

Alamo is very convenient with the skip the line feature. You go from luggage to the car.

I always would start trolling car rental sites even before I had a reservation, as long as I had an idea of when we'd be traveling. Prices go up and down all the time, just like the airlines. If your trip is during a holiday such as Spring Break, Thanksgiving....any time school is out, finding a bargain will be difficult. Sign up on the rental car sites for their rewards programs, it helps. If you see a price you can live with, book it but don't pay for it up front because then you can't cancel. If you find something cheaper later on, you can cancel and then get the better deal. Just read the fine print. Always pick up and return your car to the same place. Just know that renting directly within MCO is more expensive then if you rented off MCO property.

Have you looked at under c0ver t0urist? UCT has discounted rates for previous customers and if you are buying a ticket (the ticket can be anything on their site, doesn't have to cost much!). I save 40 to 60% renting through them and using either Budget or Avis.

Another factor is how much you will use it as non airport transport. Our last trip I ended up just renting for a day from MCO. We did all our off property stuff the day we landed, then dropped off the car at some hotel just outside Disney springs. The rest of the trip was just shuttles or Lyft

I made a reservation on priceline and checked back every few days till I got the price I wanted..
Priceline/ hotwire were about the same as the rate costco quoted me.
On one trip we rented at alamo at the car care center after our disney days to save money... (I hate that I have to pay parking on a rental)

I use Alamo app and use the happy day deal. They have given me any size I wanted when I went to the garage to pick up!
