Car rental from BWV ?

Leaving in 4 weeks for BWV and OKW. Arriving on the 26th for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the rates for National Car are more than cut in half if I start my trip on the 27th. (I was told that special rates start the 27th) So, we are planning on a town car pick up and rental from the Dolphin on the 27th and dropping it off at the airport when we leave.

We have never rented from the Dolphin. Do they have a good selection of cars there? Is there anything I should know or before renting from there?

I am very eager to hear any responses here. We arrive on Sunday the 20th. It was going to cost $200 for 4 days of a rental from the airport. I played around and ended up with $130 if I wait one day and rent from the Dolphin and return to the airport. I would love to hear responses as to how many cars they have. Do they allow you to choose your car like at the airport?

There is a good selection of cars at the Dolphin and there are more at the Car Care Center to choose from. The desk tends to be busy at times so plan accordingly. Also even though the closing time says 4:00 it closes earlier than that. We were almost stuck one year because of this so go early. The valets out front take care of the car at pick up and drop off. That being said for the most part it was very easy and I would rent there again.

We plan on picking up the car around 2:00, since that's the time we are returning the car to the airport. Will this allow for enough time to get a decent standard size car ?

We rented a car one time from National and it overheated prior to arriving to the BWV. Nat'l wanted us to go all the way back to the airport even when we said, but there is one right next door. When we went to the Dolphin to exchange our car, they wanted to fill it up with antifreeze and send us on our way. We refused. The service was not very good. Eventually we ended up getting a replacement, but it took several hours out of our trip.

We rented a car from the Dolphin last May and had no problems. DW was given a choice of several vehicles, while paying the midsize rate we had reserved in advance.

2:00 gives you plenty of time.
