My husband has been crazy about renting a Dodge Challenger during our June stay. Does anyone know if any of the rental companies have the Challenger? If so, can I reserve a specific car?

Thanks for the help.

That being a 2 door car, most likely not. They tend to stay with 4 doors which would be a Charger.

If someone did have the 2 door challenger, it would be a "specialty" car and you would pay quite a lot for it.

Alamo, National and Enterprise have Challengers. They are generally in the Premium class. They show up often in the Emerald Executive aisle.

They are usually in the Premium class, not specialty. Specialty is usually reserved for Mercedes, BMW etc.

This is one of your options and the most affordable, but there are no guarantees that any specific car will be available to select.

Some rental companies--such as Hertz--have programs that allow you to reserve a specific model in advance, but you will pay for the priviledge. They do have the Charger R/T reservable by model at some locations in their Adrenaline Collection. Prices typically would run $750 +/- per week.

Thanks, everyone. I had tried the "Adrenaline" collection from Hertz that touts you can reserve it but when I tried it wasn't an option. I've told DH it's going to cost a ridiculous amount of money (especially for nine days) but he's looking at it as a preview to buying. My thought is if he hates it than it actually will save us hassle over the long term. If he loves it...looks like we'll have a new car sooner then later.

I'll do some more exploring. Again, thanks.

I just tried a mock booking at Hertz and was able to book a Challenger R/T from 6/1/2013 - 06/10/2013; the total came to $1,186.

Make sure if you are using Hertz and go to the vehicle selection page that you choose show all cars at the upper right otherwise you will only see the first 10 cars. MCO has a lot of vehicles for rental choices; a total of 37 different classes including the Porsche collection (Panamera, 911, Boxster and Cayenne). If you are trying to rent from Sanford or a off-airport location your options will be much more limited.

You are totally correct. You can always ask if one is available. With this, I am referring to National, Alamo, Enterprise.
