Car Rental Codes for December

Early December renters, check your National/Alamo rates.

Ours just dropped again. We're now barely over $200 taxes in for a midsize for 10 days with pickup at MCO and dropoff at RSW. Rates would be even cheaper if we dropped off at MCO.

Thanks, Encinc. I checked National last night and using my Mastercard I could get 20% off plus $30 off weekly rental. Contract ID 5009781 and coupon ND3ZZ9ZDA, which are good through 12/31.

I got a fullsize for a week starting 12/4 for $159

Try contract ID 5760339. I have no idea who this is for. I got it on here a few years back. We have used it everytime with no issues. It always seems to give us the best rate.

That is the Carlstrom Travel code. That is an open code for all to use. No membership needed. Works pretty well iN Dec .

Ok, so we don't need a minivan or SUV, we'll take anything and a compact is fine with us. But I can't get my 8 day rental lower than $315. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Any help is appreciated.

I did not know your times, but at National I get $250 total with your dates for the econ... rate code 5760339 then choose a coupon to stack it

I have never had a problem with that code.

We too are emerald aisle members. You have to sign into the emerald club member spot on the national website. Then proceed as normal to book / reserve.

It will say "your level of service is Emeral Aisle" on your confirmation.

Thank you SO MUCH for this code. I have been looking for a car for our upcoming trip into Fort Myers and out of Orlando. I started in early September with a cost of $330, but with using this code, I'm now down to $207. YAHOO!!

Of course, I'll keep searching right until we go, but this savings of $123 thus far is AWESOME!!

YAHOO !!!!!!!!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

I have been checking also. The cheapeast I am getting from Nov 26 (1230PM) to Dec 4th (330PM) is $206.00 taxes included. Without this code...it is at least $245+.

Another code to try is #5004625. I think its a Georgia code. This sometimes is good for 1 or 2 days rentals. Something like $33 to $45 a day.

We like to use this code because its cheaper just getting a rental vs. a cab then we can make our "booze" stop and then we return the car to the Dolphin the next day.

Hope this helps.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CODE 5004625 TO ANYONE!
It is a STATE OF GEORGIA EMPLOYEE CODE...

It has been discussed here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2252462

ALSO HERE IS INFO DIRECTLY FROM COMPANY SITE....
http://www.busfin.uga.edu/administrative/auto_rental_procedures.html

Using any code you are not entitled to is 'iffy' but especially state, federal, government or military codes you don't qualify for.

If one includes insurance (which this one might depending on where you read info and a simple google search produces LOTS of results) and you are in an accident and can't provide ID that you work or qualify for the code there could be major issues.

It would be helpful if people posted legit codes or at least take the time to find out where they come from before offering to others on this board. :confused3:confused3:confused3

The GA employee code and teh FL employee code do not always work at MCO. From my internet research, they seem to be fine to use at almost any airport out of state as they are unaware of its usage and terms. But at MCO, the king of tourists looking for a steal of a deal, they DO ask for state employee ID at times.

Guess at times we newbies are much more informed when it comes to things and know when to use codes and when not to use them. People have been asked for a simple Costco card. People have been asked for ID when RETURNING a rental car. People have not been able to produce ID when that ONE EMPLOYEE asks for ID and have to pay full price. People have had accidents using codes that included insurance that they weren't entitled to and had to pay out of pocket as they misinformed the rental car company as to their affiliations with a company.

Yes, people do get away with using 'iffy' codes all the times but it is a risk someone has to be willing to take. If a person says I am entitled to this code and uses it to get a rate and are asked for ID by the employee upon rental or return and can't produced the ID then the company does not have to honor that rate.

Just because a code is out there in internet land doesn't mean you are entitled to use it. Just because I can find the federal government employee discount code or Avis employee code doesn't mean I can use them. Just because a site for a rental car company accepts a code doesn't mean they can't and won't ask for ID.

Guess we newbies and mouseketeers are more informed than some might think.

People can try whatever code they want and can use them. Chances are they will get away with it BUT if they don't they can't dispute with a credit card company when they LIED about being affiliated with the company. The most 'iffy' ones are going to be government, state employee, military, etc.

Guess I am more well informed than some people think! I didn't think I was rude. I thought I was giving sound advice about a code that people might want to know about. Most people here assume that the codes found are legit.

Guess I need to clarify legit. They think they are available for everyone to use like the Travelocity one, Walmart code, and ones found on www. mousesaver.com where the GOOD CODES everyone can use are. I think most people assume legit means they can use it without any problems or worries. Using a STATE EMPLOYEE code even though it is out on the internet is not a good idea in most cases and would not be considered a legit code. Most anything can be found on the internet these days very easily. Just because it is there doesn't mean we are entitled to it. But some do think they are entitled to everything.

What was here should not have been what I quoted.

For those looking for good codes for December and if you have COSTCO those rates seem to work really well. If you follow the link on the Costco site you can find coupons and codes. The coupons are valid till 2011.

Also will reiterate that it pays to keep checking in days before trip to see if rates drop.
It is easy to cancel and rebook at the cheaper rate.
Sometimes they go down a couple times a day.

Sorry for the post that was here before.

I agree with everything azdizzymom said and I have been posting on the DIS a lot longer than you. Are you going to be equally condescending to me?

Go ahead and use the GA code, but don't come whining back here when you are caught using a code that you are not eligible for and are required to pay full price :rolleyes1.

You know....I'm just trying to have a real life guys. I leave the computer for half a day and you all go rogue on me. Not nice kids.
In any case....I have said it before and I obviously have to say it again.
Be sure you know, beforehand, whether or not you qualify for a code/pin. You do NOT want to get to the checkout area after renting your car for a week only to find that the code you found here is only good for Alaskan pygmies. It is going to cost you a ton of money.
Now...I realize that there are people who post every code they find and tell you that they are good for anyone. Do your homework first. Then, if you find that you are actually entitled to use it, go for it. But not every code is good for every renter.
And believe me, the car rental companies catch on when they finally realize that non-entitled renters have been using those codes. They shut down that code so fast your head would spin. And those following behind won't know that the code is no longer good for them. They heard that it's good here, so figure it's going to work for them. And they get a huge shock at the rental counter.

So...buyer beware. Be sure you are using a code that is good for you.
And I don't want to see anymore of that nastiness here. Those with fewer posts to their names are just as qualified to speak to an issue as those with thousands of posts.

End of discussion for me.

My response was to AZDIZZYWHOEVER and not to you. So there was no need to rack up your post totals with this post. Maybe I can now see why you posts are over 22,000. If I had responded to you, then I would have expected your reply.

I dont get involved in other peoples disagreements.

I guess.."birds of a feather really do flock together".

Normally, I would delete this kind of post. BUT...I'm leaving it here to illustrate what I meant in my previous post. It shouldn't matter one iota to anyone how many posts someone has. We don't need 'post police' here. As I already said.....your opinion counts (as long as it's stated politely) whether you have 3 posts or 33,000 posts. Period.

This is a discussion board. Anyone is free to respond to anyone else's post. As long as it is politely done. Period.

Point taken. The key word is "POLITELY" !!!!!!!!
