Car rental close to DL?

I was wondering if there was any place close to DL that you can rent a car?
Our plan was to get from LAX to our hotel without renting a car and then getting a rental on our 5th day to check out of Disney and drive down to San Diego.
Any possibilities?

The ones around 1700 Harbor are VERY close to the Disneyland entrance. The Katella ones are probably fairly close, too, although I don't know about them.

That's exactly what we did last November. On the day we were leaving I left my mom with the kids and walked through DTD to the rental office. It was quick and easy to get the van, and I was back at our hotel in no time.

We left about 10am on a weekday, and made great time to San Diego.

That's the KEY. It all depends on what time you leave for SD. The traffic can be horrendous through Irvine. The trip takes about an hour and 15 minutes if you hit no traffic (depending on what part of SD you're going to--it's HUGE land-wise), but can take up to 2-3 hours if you hit a lot of traffic. It's an easy drive, though--just straight down I-5.

It's definitely worth doing. San Diego is beautiful and there's a lot to do there. You'll love it!

we rented a car but not from the company in DTD. We rented one from the airport and we drove down to legoland for a day and then another day we spent driving around, going to the beach and shopping.
