Car rental Christmas week

My family will be renting a full size car for the week between Christmas and New Year's. I am finding a price of $219.00 (total price) for a Dodge Intrepid using the Silver Dollar Club discount. Does this sound like a good price? I've tried AARP and Military discounts but this is the best I've found.

You might try Priceline. I read a post recently on www.biddingfortravel.com about someone that got a full size car for Xmas week 2004 for $18/day plus taxes and fees. You don't have anything to lose trying a Priceline bid...it seems to me you get pretty good deals on Priceline for full size/premium cars.

Silver Dollar Club is for people over 50. Yikes...... am I really that old! I signed up for it on the Dollar website. It offers a better discount than either AARP or the military discount that my husband is eligible for. There is also a coupon online for a free upgrade if you rent a compact or intermediate car. Unfortunately the coupon is good only through December 11 and we are renting on December 27. I am hoping they will offer a similar upgrade for our dates.

Is Dollar at the MCO airport? Although my mom probably won't be driving she will be taking us to WDW beginning November 28. I can reserve with her name and add my husband as an additional driver. I don't need a van but a mid/full size car but it would be great to get the discount! Also, can anyone please tell me the name of the agencies that are right at the airport? Thank you very much.

im not sure which others you prbalbe could visit the mco on the web and check them out or go to each one of the car rental webs.

as far as discounts for your dates, visit the car rental webs and click on specials, coupons etc. and find if the dates are good for your time frame

i got a suv for $129 budget for april 11-18

and thru dvc members service got me a mini van for april 8-11 alamo $176

easter is black out for most of the car rentals and i dont think that is bad since i just booked my rental today, got a great deal on airfare, decide to fly instead of drive
