On our trip two years ago, anytime we were heading anywhere other than to the MK, my dad would drive to the Outpost from his campsite, while I would take the GC from our cabin. (He liked doing this rather than taking an internal bus.) It seems like some of the parking rules have changed since then. Does anyone know whether that is still allowed (for my dad - who is staying at FW - to park for a portion of the day at the Outpost?

Thanks!

Leslie

Leslie....first things first.....if you are one of those girls in that picture, and it's a school night, and it's 11:30pm, shouldn't you be in bed?? Now, to your question...I don't like the buses either and sometimes don't have a GC. I wouldn't have thought of driving to the Outpost but I will in the future. I've never seen anything that says you can't do that. Your dad is smart.

The only time I would worry is if you were going to leave it over night. As long as his parking pass is in the window they can't say anything. When we stay in the summer I usually keep my truck in the overflow so I have more room.

I'll have to say though that the overflow has become a mess. People with big rigs will pull down a row and block 20 spots no problem. I always look for a spot inside the area behind the security fence.

Okay, I'm totally cracking up. Thanks for the bedtime advice, but happily both girls in the picture in my signature (my daughters :lmao: - and that picture is a good 3-4 years old) were sound asleep at the time of my post. Donnie can even attest to my legal age. :rotfl2:

Anyway, thanks for the info. I knew that parking had some new issues but it sounds like we'll be able to keep on with our parking plan from last trip.

Trust me, the girls in the sig pic isn't Leslie. She's olddddddddddddd. I'm surprised they let her get on the computer that late at the old folks home. :lmao:

As long as you leave your parking pass in the dash you shouldn't have any issues. Even if you leave it there over night. Although I wouldn't park it on the overflow side... to many big rigs pulling in and out, and plus you then have to drive all the way around to get back in.

HEY! I may not have to worry about it being a school night, but I'm not that old!

Yet.

Although, my hair is turning gray and my knees give me trouble sometimes.

Ugh. I guess it's my time to head off to the old folks home afterall. (Maybe I can still qualify for assisted living?)

I'm just kidding everybody. Leslie's a very nice looking lady. She's far from the old folks home.

 oops I'm really embarassed now.Well then I won't harp on you for being up late. And you can't that darn old if you still have the ability to camp.

During my trip last December, I often drove to the outpost and parked there for the day instead of taking the bus. Parking pass was in the window and as long as you are not in the spots reserved for checkin you will have no problem.:thumbsup2 Stay on the outpost side of the parking lot, not the overflow and you don't have to use your card to get back in at the guard shack.

I parked there one day and on the way back in to the Fort, the driver seemed to get lost and came in the wrong driveway...through the guard shack instead of the proper entrance down by the overflow lot. Needless to say he was stuck behind the RV's checking in for at least 10 minutes until one of the FW managers came out and opened another check in gate for him to pull through. Now a Disney bus is pretty large, big or bigger than some of the biggest motorhomes, he barely made it through! And the whole time we were stuck I'm thinking 'if you'd just let me off, my car is parked...RIGHT OVER THERE!':rotfl:

Once I get checked in and unpacked, I generally leave my truck out in the lot the entire trip. Just don't like having it at the campsite.
