Just curious what you would rather do. We will have a rental car and I am tring to decide if we should drive and park or take the Disney bus.

What would your preference be?? Why?

Thanks

We always used our car to get to the Parks with the exception being MK.

With the bus picking up at all AS resorts, it's much faster to just drive and park at DHS.

We prefer to drive. No waiting to stand on an overfilled, jampacked bus. Instead just jump into an air conditioned car, relax in your seat, and be there in just a few minutes. Get back in the car at the end of the night, knowing you'll have a seat and will be back at your resort in just a few minutes. No long waits trying to get on a jam packed bus full of sweaty people and tired, crying kids.:rotfl:

I generally hate Disney bussing, so I definitely prefer to drive to AK, DHS, and Epcot.

For Magic Kingdom, I'm torn. I hate having to wait to take the parking tram to the TTC, then wait to take the monorail or ferry to the park, and then do it all over again when we leave. At that point, I think the bus might have a very slight edge, depending on our other plans for the day.

My favorite option is valet parking at a monorail resort, then just taking the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Of course, that's $15 plus tip each day you do that, so it can't be a routine thing for us.

Is it free to park at the parks I'd staying on property?

Yes, you can park at all Parks for free if staying at one of the resorts.

Just FYI: parking at the parks is free if you are staying at a Disney owned resort or if someone in the car has a annual pass (so you can get free parking even if you are staying offsite as long as you have an AP).

Valet parking is also free if you have a handicap tag.

To make rope drop at Epcot, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom you should seriously consider driving.

Using Disney transportation the sweet spot bus could well be full before you get on so you need to plan on being out on the platform earlier, like an hour before rope drop, to have a choice of, er, chance at, more than one bus and still make rope drop.

Thanks everyone. I was leaning towards driving as I would much rather walk to the car than wait for a bus. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy!
