hello there looking for some information on the hidden charges on car hire.

ive booked a hoilday with first choice (villa) comes with car hire and there are two insurane options the one ive gone for is :-

Fully Inclusive Insurance includes:
Underinsured Motorist Protection (UMP)
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) and Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)
All local taxes, state taxes and airport fees

what else will i have to pay when i pick the car up

just so i can buget for it.

I think because you have SLI/LDW and taxes covered the only thing you may have to pay for is a tank full of petrol - unless you have pre-paid for that also?

Unless you will consider an upgrade, they are bound to ask you about one....

thanks for the respone any one been with first choice hoildays in a 4 star plus villa in the kissmee area ??? any one have any idea where this would be in kissamee?

also there are 2 audults and 2 children going what are the best tickets for disney to go for and are the american express travel cards any good i know people have posted before on this but no real answers have come from them.

many thanks lee

Most of the villa locations will either be just off the 192 in Kissimmee, Formosa Gardens or Poinciane Boulevared or just off the US27.

As for Disney Tickets, we bought the Premium Magic Your Way ticket from www.mapleleaftickets.com - it depends on whether you want hopper or non-expiry facility etc

I think you will also have to pay for any additional drivers as well as petrol.

That's right but only if you will have more than 1 person who will be driving the car, we have always just had 1.....me ;)

i was thinking of any deposits i would have to leave?

as i dont have a credit card is this a promblem??

Hi Lee,

I'm sure I have always had to provide a credit card swipe for car hire. I say "had to" but they have always asked and I have always given them the card to swipe. Maybe there is an alternative, but I have never gone down that road. I'm sure a debit card would work fine but I'm not comfortable leaving swipes with my debit card personally - far less protection if issues arise.

Have you considered worth getting a credit card for your trip? - it's good to have one in case of an emergency, eg doctors bills etc which you would likely have to pay upfront and claim back later on the insurance. I very much hope you don't need the doctors, that was just the first example that sprang to mind!
