Quidco is often declined for the Brits deal although it does sometimes get paid.

Just checked Sarah's dates and they want £851.51 for 17 days :scared1: No idea what is going on there.

Netflights/Alamo look to be the cheapest at £319 less 5% Quidco = £303

net flights went up today so booked with usrentacar 308.44

yes the alamo brits one is huge i have no clue why its so expensive

if you use netflights is the price you are quoted all you need to pay, they won't try and sell me additional insurance (which I freak out that I need and end up buying stuff I don't really need) We are going to California and need a car for the 28th March 2015 to 16th April 2015. But I want it as an all exclusive price. Normally I use USrentacar but they seem expensive this time.

Cheers Kirsten

They are fully inclusive but, as with any car rental they might try the hard sell at the desk.
Are you flying into LAX? unfortunately I found that airport to be the worst(along with BOS) airport I have been to for the hard sell, first time he tried getting me to upgrade. After I said no his attitude changed from friendly to totally arrogant. 2nd time after I said no to everything the lady literally threw the forms at me and said "she signs there", meaning my wife. Both times I used Dollar (Alamo at BOS)

So yes Netflights, just same as USrentacar are fully inclusive, you just have to stick it out and refuse everything they try sell.

Thank you so much Wayne, the only time we have had the hard sell is in LA a well. We were at the carhire place for nearly 3 hours with 2 small children I was about explode think that was National. Stupid thing was the hotel was about a block away, if I had known that I would have taken the kids and gone.

I have gotten stronger and wiser now, so I won't take any crap.

Additionally has anyone used Rentalcars.com they seem to have a reasonable rate.

Never used them myself but wouldn't hesitate to do so, they are a big company. Part of the Priceline groups which includes:

Active Hotels
In September 2004, Priceline acquired Active Hotels Ltd., a hotel booking service in the European market, for £90 million.

Booking.com
In 2005, Priceline acquired Amsterdam-based Booking.com, a competing reservation service operating primarily in Europe.

Agoda.com
In November 2007, Priceline acquired Agoda, an online accommodation booking service which provides a service similar to Priceline's but specializing in Asia Pacific. Agoda's network includes more than 380,000 properties worldwide.

Rentalcars.com (Formerly TravelJigsaw)
In May 2010, Priceline acquired TravelJigsaw, an on-line car rental service.

Kayak
In November 2012, Priceline announced that it had agreed to acquire Kayak.com in a stock and cash transaction, paying approximately $500 million in cash and $1.3 billion in equity and assumed stock options. Kayak will continue to operate independently as a Priceline Group company.

OpenTable
In June 2014, Priceline agreed to acquire OpenTable in a deal worth $2.6 billion.

we booked with usrentacar in the end as was cheaper than any others we had found

We have used usrentacar for our next trip; significantly cheaper than booking direct and JUST enough cheaper than other resellers (netflights etc. - even when taking into account cashback). Haven't used them before so we shall see...

Alamo with Brits code is coming out a lot less for me than US Rentacar for August 2015. I just checked because I've never heard of them before.

I'm going in 35 days and I haven't planned a single thing for our holiday :scared1:

I've no clue where to look for car hire prices, I've found a price of £334 with auto europe, and there's 7% cash back with quidco for nov 13th to dec 6th. Seems like a fair deal, or is there any better?

http://www.quidco.com/carrentals-co-uk/

Thru this link it would be £328 less 8% Quidco (agent would be Netflights) Not a lot cheaper.

Whoever you rent from my advice to DO NOT GO WITH DOLLAR. I've been renting cars for over 20 years with pretty much all the car rental companies including Alamo, Thrifty, National, Avis and the only one I've had problems with is Dollar.

I'll never use them again. If you have any problems you're stuffed as their 'customer service' is non existent.

Same here, been renting since 1993, about 50 rentals now. Dollar definitely one of my favourite at MCO(not good at LAX), the Dollar Express makes it so easy to collect.
I had a major problem with Alamo in 2002, took me 10 years to give them another chance.
Overall Budget is the only one I avoid.
Hertz is my favoured(although the car they gave me last month was 2 year old and 65k on clock) Dollar & Alamo on a par IMO.
As for Dollars customer service I found it excellent when I had a charge taken by mistake, on return home I emailed them and it was refunded within a few days.
No rental company is perfect, they all have good & bad reps, good and bad days. Hertz my favourite took £600 for the rental even though I had prepaid, it was repaid no problem a few days after getting home.

Sure everyone makes a mistake but this year Dollar has made mistake after mistake - and most concerning that they're not prepared to help. After 7 days of non-response to my asking for help via their website I had to phone them up (didn't want to do this from a hotel phone due to costs) -but even then they said they would do something but didn't.

In the end I drove back to MCO and got the car swapped. The garage crew there (not Dollar as they're shared) said the car shouldn't have been rented to me and that they had 'the most trouble from Dollar'.

This was on top of the desk guy adding more insurance despite me saying that I didn't want it - and then at the end when I asked again whether he had added anything he said I'd only been charged a $250 refundable deposit! It wasn't till I checked through the receipt in the garage that I went back and asked him what he had dine that he removed it with some crazy excuse.

Sure, you could put all that down to bad luck but the FACT that their customer service people failed to get back to me for 7 days is pretty dreadful!

For me Dollar are a joke company!
