Car games??

Just wondering what are some verbal car games that other Dis-ers play? My family-- even when we aren't driving to Disney-- often play the ABC game! A= Alice (in Wonderland.) B= Baloo C= Cinderella.. & so on! What do other people play??

& if anyone else plays what we play, what do you do for X?! XR from Buzzlightyear Star Command? Experiment XYZ from Leroy & Stitch? I can't find ANY X's online!!

We often play "The Movie Game". You have to say a line (or name a character) from a movie and others have to guess the name of the movie. For example "Welcome to the Himalayas" - Monsters Inc.

If you enjoy making words from acronyms there is an online game at acrobabble.com. It is a chat room where you are given a theme and letters. People posts their answers and then everyone votes for which they like the best. I'll warn you - it is very addicting!

We have played the numbers game....

We look for 1 on a license plate, then 2, 3, etc.....
to see how high we can go to before we have to stop...
We have looked for letters on the license plates too......

For this trip we are playing Disney trivia. I found a website and printed out the questions and answers. We started playing in the car by asking our children questions about Disney that we could think of off the top of our head on short trips, we soon ran out of questions. So this trip I will be prepared. I don't remember the site.

Car Bingo. You can get pre made cards at places like Cracker Barrel or you can make them. Put things on them like cows, horses, colors of cars/trucks, exit and street signs, restaurants, etc. and give everyone a marker or pen and everyone calls out what they see.

We play 20 questions with a Disney theme. Here's another game I found on-line:

Fortunately-Unfortunately
This game helps teach kids to look at the bright side of things in a silly way. For example, you say, "Unfortunately, there's a tiger in the car." Your son says, "Fortunately, he doesn't eat boys." Your daughter says, "Unfortunately, he's looking at me and licking his lips." You say, "Fortunately, I brought along my tiger-jaw-clamper." And so on, alternating between fortunate and unfortunate things.

We play "Find the Cars"! I make sheets with a list of 15 cars/trucks on them ....for examples... red VW beetle, Mayflower semi-trailer, Black Ford Mustang, U-haul and so on...who ever spies their list first wins an envelope. I put little prizes in the envelopes normally putting stuff in like Disney stickers, $5 disney bucks, a note saying you get to pick the first ride on day 2, or a dessert with any meal you choice at Disney (which miht not work this time since we are doing (QSDP). I also bought some small Disney stickers and am going to make Disney Suduko cards, and they will use the stickers to fill in the squares.

These are all great ideas, I'm saving this thread.

I do a scavenger hunt, I make a list of things for my kids to look for like gas for $2.56, a sign with an orange on it, a purple car, etc.

They also like to try to find all of the letters of the alphabet.

Another game they made up is one person will read a word on a sign backwards and the other has to try to guess what it is, but this one works best in town when the other has time to look around like in stop and go traffic.

We love the Cracker Barrel bingo cards since it has the windows you slide over instead of bingo markers to lose.
