Car broken into in Universal Studios parking garage - anything we can do??

Short story - at Universal Studios for the weekend and the first day we were there we came back from a day at the park to find our van had been broken into. We had things in there because we hadn't been able to check into our hotel yet.

We filed a claim with security who basically apologized and told us to call Orlando PD who just told us to file a report online.

Anyone else experience this and is there anything Universal will do about it or will they tell us they aren't responsible...?

Follow their instructions so you can have the paperwork when you return home. You should then file a claim with your insurance company.

Like most places, Universal is not responsible for any damages to your car. Parking lots in general have the same disclaimer. If Universal or any other company for that matter took responsibility for damages, they would have claims to deal with all the time. Some people might even damage their cars on purpose if they knew Universal would pay for it.

I'm sorry that happened to you...especially on vacation.
