Just read on Facebook that many of the newer cars have done away with them. Is this true? Surely this person is wrong.

State Law in NY along with a host of other things required in Cars. I remember trying to buy a new car without the optional rear defogger, Couldn't. If the directionals don't work an car will not pass NYS safety inspection.

I also think someone is pulling your leg. I don't believe it for a second.

I hope not. I can't stand being behind someone who doesn't signal; I can't imagine driving where blinkers aren't required. Can you imagine the accidents?

Funny blinker story - It was big news last year when the mayor of our city received a ticket for making a turn without signaling. I think it was a slow news day.

They may as well get rid of air bags, horns and wipers too while they are at it. Think of what a challenge it will be! Who needs those anyway?? :rotfl2:

Of course not. Maybe they mean they might as well not come with directionals, based on what I see everyday.

Spare tires yes, blinkers, no. They are required by federal law.

A lot of cars no longer have a place on the passenger side to unlock the door, they expect everyone to have a key fob for that, and the only key hole is on the driver's side. Sorry, I only carry the key FOB for my car with me, not going to carry a pocketful of key fobs with me with I just need a key. Sometimes I need to get in the passenger side first.

Okay...everybody have your fun. Gullibility, sarcasm, stupidity...whatever. Since the last time I looked at new cars, backup cameras, lane change warnings and many other great features have been added. When I saw this being discussed (no blinkers on newer cars), I figured I'd missed a "new" technical gadget that takes the place of a regular blinker. So sorry!

That's what my husband calls speed limit signs. When we were on a trip once, I reminded him of the speed limit as he was zooming down a winding road and going faster than I thought he should. He told me that the speed limit sign was just a suggestion.:rotfl:

It's funny because when he drives around town, he drives so slowly that he almost goes backwards. But when we are on trips, he speeds.
