How would Hilton Head be without a car?

I'm trying to plan a trip there & need to know if I should fly & rent a car or drive...

While you can enjoy the resort without a car (you can walk to several restaurants, stores and walk, bike or ride the shuttle to the beach), the island has much to offer which requires transportation.

I wouldn't be comfortable without personal transportation myself, but you can certainly utilize taxis to explore the resources the area offers.

We own points @ HH and simply love the resort. However, you really can't do HH without a car. I live in NJ and have driven down several times to SC. It is not that bad a drive. Best of luck in your planning!

Although we have not been to HH yet (going Christmas break) we have driven from NY to Florida 7 times. I would certainly recommend driving. We drive straight through and our kids ages are 3, 4 and 6. We decided to start driving 2 years ago...flying was getting to be costly and it was the best thing we ever did. We save money and the kids love it. The drive for you would be much shorter if you are coming from Jersey and going to SC. Good Luck.
