Captains Grill or Teppan Edo???

we have never been to captains grill but we really enjoyed teppan Edo. however unless your party size is like 10, you'll be sitting closely with others. Lucky us we got the end side of the table and there was no one on the corner of other other side so he had elbow room. i remember thinking it would be terrible if someone was there b/c they'd be breathing on your food and rubbing elbows. i doubt i'm exaggerating either.

I think that's the only thing holding us back. Well no maybe not...Soup would of been nice! =)

We've done both. We found Teppan Edo to be overpriced and underwhelming compared to any other teppanyaki style restauarant found elsewhere. Where most places, you get a salad, soup, fried rice, and perhaps even a dessert for the price, at Epcot its just the entree and steamed rice. Everything else is extra. We will likely not be returning. The food was OK but the value proposition was poor at best.

Captain's Grille was pleasant surprise. It gets little to no hype or attention that we've seen and it's probably for the best...makes it quite easy to get a walk-up or reservation. The food and service were both excellent. Pricing was very reasonable for what you get. I can say with certainty that we'll dine there again.

captain's grille is a hidden gem for sure! we eat there every trip, and if i could convince him otherwise... we'd eat there more than once per trip! it'll be nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the park as well for a relaxing meal!!

teppan edo doesn't compare well to other restaurants like benihana where you get much more for about the same price, plus much better service and quality of food. if you really wanted this style... i think there's a benihana down the road.

captian's grille is a winner... you won't regret it!

We really enjoy both places. I guess I would say it depends on what mood you're in, for both food selection and atmosphere. We have dined at Teppan Edo many times, but for dinner, and we have always had a great time and meal. We tried Captain's Grille for the first time this past Aug, for lunch and thought it was excellent. The food was delicious ( I had an amazing Lobster Roll) and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

Definitely Teppan Edo. We loved the show, the food, the atmosphere. It is now a must do for us!

Oh, and Teppan Edo's entree's come with more than meat and rice. According to their menu (and while we were there), you get: meat of choice, assorted veggies, Udon noodles (yum), and steamed rice. It was more than enough for us! We were also on the DXDDP which meant we got an appetizer, soup, salad, entree, and dessert. I don't know if the soup and salad also comes with the regular meal. Maybe someone else knows?

I'm pretty sure we didn't get soup or salad with our meal but the udon noodles and vegetables were included and very good. You do also get white rice and the steak and shrimp were great. It is true it is not a really cheap place to eat.
