Would this be doable? Is 8:30 too early to expect to be off the ship at Grand Cayman.

Has any Dis'ers done the 2-hour excursion this early. Please let me know ASAP, as we leave on this Friday to head down to the Radisson.

We just returned from the July 20th cruise. We had the 10-1 tour and had to be at Capt. Marvins by 9:30 or so. We made this in plenty of time with a little shopping along the way. I think you could make the 8:30 tour if you make sure you are one of the 1st to get off the ship once they allow you too and go straight there. The walk is not really that bad and took between 5-10 minutes, I think. I would email Capt. Marvins to let them know that you are definitely coming and will be there asap. You are going to love this excursion! It was the highlight of our trip. On our boat, they had a scuba diver with us video taping everyone and the things we saw. He sells them for about $50. It's a great way to show everyone back home that you actually swam with the stingrays :p

Have fun and remember to take an underwater camera!

Hey Parties, Just curious about something, with that videotaping thing, do they let you VIEW the tape before you BUY it? To make sure you're IN it? Wouldn't that stink to buy it then not be on it... :(

Thanks Parties.....we have our underwater camera!!!! I was just worried because I know DCL lets the Disney excursion people tender first, and I just wanted to make sure they let us off in time.

I will definitely e-mail captain Marvins.

Wonderwoman,

Yes, they do let you view it before buying. He plays it on a tv on the way back to the dock. He videos everyone on the boat on the way out while we're still looking all pretty :p and then he videos everyone he can while in the water at each spot, videos back on the boat again with our snorkel hair :( and at stingray city, he vidoes everyone that holds the stingrays. He of course cannot say how much you will be videotaped but he does try to get everyone. The reason I liked it so much was because he was able to go down and video the coral and fish up close. We're from the MS. coast and believe me, no one around here has seen water that clear and beautiful before and this was a way to really show them what its like! He's not forward about it at all. He lets you know his service and on the ride back, he asks who wants one. All you have to do is say no and he doesn't ask again. We haven't received our tape yet but are expecting it any day now. As soon as we receive it, I'll post here what I think about it.

They had us meet in the Walt Disney theatre to get our tender tickets and wait for the next boat to shore. I think if you are there, waiting by 7am, you will still be one of the 1st off. They may say you are too early but just wait. I've heard that sometimes, if the Disney excursion boats are not full, they let others on. Make sure your entire family is there with you and everyone has their KTTW cards and adults have their picture ids. They will not let you off without these. Have a Magical trip!!
