Captain Grilles reveiws needed!!!

Here are some photos. I would agree with many previous posters, the desserts were probably the least impressive part of meal. We booked this on our arrival night and didn't find the service particularly slow.

Do you remember what this dessert was called? It looks yummy!!

I am thinking of changing our ADR from Yachtsman to Captain Grille's but wasn't sure if my DS27 would have any vegetarian choices. Yachtsman seems to have more of a selection other than the Chef's pasta creation. Does anyone know if the chef will accommodate him at either restaurant?

That is the key lime tart.

I happended to take a picture of the menu. This was one of the few menus I have a photo of, maybe because it was the first restaurant of the trip.

The Wild Mushroom and Onion Tart sounds vegetarian, plus there is a message at the bottom of menu that says the chef will try to work with you.

HTH!

Oh my goodness those pictures look amazing!!! OK I am offically excited for our dinner here!!!! Thanks to all who have posted :)

Okay, so clearly I am not going to give our CG ADR.
With this in mind, any vegetarians/vegans have a meal here, and can comment on what I can expect in terms of a main course?

After a dismal experience at the Yachtman's Steakhouse last December (worst 2 credit vegetarian meal I've EVER had), I am so hoping the CG's has something better in store.

My husband (not a vegetarian) had the mushroom onion tart entree at captain's grille. He really enjoyed it...large, sweet, balsamic glaze, small salad accompanying it.

I had a bite and it was very tasty.

So glad to see this post!

Just made a reservation for Captains Grill a few days ago, last minute, for our Labor Day weekend trip which is during free dining (which we don't have)...booked purely because they offer crab legs which DH and I love! THANK YOU natebenma for posting those pictures. I can't wait to get there and have our first dinner at Captains Grill!!! :thumbsup2

Everyone already said it was good- but I wanted to second that. I loved it there. I had Crab Legs and RedSkin Potatoes and for dessert I had the Key Lime Tart. It is a very good deal if you have the dining plan and may be one of the only dining plan restaurants that have crab legs. I was going to post pictures but someone already beat me to it with the same exact pictures. It is nice because it is always easy to get into and we loved walking around the Yacht Club!!!

I know everyone is talking about dinner but I have to add that this place is our FAVORITE for breakfast. We always get the buffett and they have the best Mickey waffles anywhere. I swear they put something extra in them because they are so yummy.

Now I want to try it for dinner as well!!

I think I'm going to change my ADR from Yachtsman's to Captain's Grille - thanks everyone for your input on the vegetarian choices (and for the menu!)

Would you say that during a slow time of year (end of Jan/early Feb) that I would need to make an ADR here?

Probably not, but as your trip gets closer it is probably not a bad idea to make an ADR. There is no penalty for canceling or even not showing up.

We went on a Saturday night in July (July 10), 6 PM and there were open tables.

I don't think this restaurant is on many peoples' radars.

If people keep talking about how good this place is, it will be on their radars. :lmao:
