Capris during the summer?

I wear capris instead of shorts too. They have really lightweight nice ones at Target.

I wear my Crocs with my capris, so I guess I'm another funny-looking person. :rotfl:

I don't wear shorts anymore and haven't been uncomfortable in capris. If you do wear denim and plan on going on Splach Mountain, they may stay wet longer than light cotton ones!

Another vote for crocs and capris. Who cares what you look like? It's all about being comfortable and cool while you have fun, fun, fun!

IMHO, capris are way too hot to wear during the day in the summer! I stick with shorts!

I wear Nikes w/ my capris when I'm at WDW or someplace else where I have to do a lot of walking. (I wear sandels w/ capris when walking isn't an issue). I'll never make the pages of Glamour, but my Nikes and capris sure are comfortable. (I laugh just thinking about the comments my family will make about my Nikes and capris when we go through the photo album twenty years from now!) :) :) :) :)

i went with the nike walking shoe type sneakers and capris also although i stuck with the more casual capris ( not that shiny type cotten but the rougher jean like cotton ones or denim ( in winter) for the parks since the nicer ones i took just looked really goofy with the sneakers...if we came back and changed before dinner i changed into the nicer ones with a pair of open toed slides i took

although i just got the most hideously ugly but so comfortable pair of slides..the brand was rt 66 and they are leather upper, open toed flipflops but so cushiony i feel like walking on air ( really!) so i might save them for disney this fall ( well not quite as ugly as crocs but real close :teeth: ) and while ugly they would be less bulky than sneakers with capris

Well...my mom and I are the oddballs here. We never wear anything but tank tops and shorts in the summer, and shorts and t-shirts during the day in November/december...pants at night.

I wore capris with my Nikes last August (mad hot in DW) and felt great. I cannot stand shorts coz' I hate my legs touching the chairs. I always kept a pair of flipflops in my bag too (old navy lightweighted ones) and wear them when I go on to wet rides so that my socks and sneakers don't get wet.

Wow it looks like I'm in the minority here. I live in NJ, so it definitely doesn't get as hot as it does in Florida in the summer. While I usually live in capris, I cannot wear them in the summer when I go to Florida. As much as I hate the way my legs look, it's much too hot to be wearing capris. But that's just me.

We go every July and I'm comfortable wearing capris when we go out to eat for supper and spend the rest of the night at the parks but definately not during the day!

I think loose fitting ones in summer would be okay, but 2 years ago I brought a few of the tighter fitting ones (stretchy ones) I wore them for 10 mins outside and never touched any of em the rest of the trip. Too hot and sticky to wear anything that is tight fitting. I love capris but in July at WDW I am strickly a shorts or sundress gal! :)
(and I too wear my Crocs with any/all of the above)

would never subject all those happy vacationers to the sight of my thighs!!! Ok, I'm kind of an old fart, just having celebrated that big 5-0 :guilty: ! I haven't worn shorts in years in deference to the rest of the world. I did, however, find a couple of pairs of skorts by Dockers that I think I might actually be able to wear in public. They're not too short, but short enough, cover the worst of the thigh area and, when I sit down, I don't get that tight thigh spread, well I do, but it's covered by the skirt part!! I'm hopeful!!

I have pale white "chicken legs", with a pot belly. My figure was not made for shorts, as the waist is always tight and the legs loose. I bring stretch & cotton capris, and sundresses. I have not mastered the shoe combo yet, as I found comfy Nile Air sneakers for my capris, but no nice sandals that compliment my Disney sundresses while remaining easy to walk miles in. If anyone finds a really nice looking sandal that is heaven to walk in, I'm in for a size 8.5!

I am far from thin, but i wear long shorts(to the knees )
and just bought orange crocs so count me in with the odd looking, but happy feet wearing mickey fans! :rotfl2:
