I feel like I must be the only woman on the face of the earth who simply cannot wear capri pants.

Either they look like regular pants that are just too short, or they make my calves look huge.

I've decided that I'm just not genetically predisposed to capri pants.

Anyone else?

I have that same problem as well! I am short (a bit over 5') and they just don't fit me right. I did try on a pair of cropped pants today and they fit me nearly perfectly  I might have to go back on a better day with the right shoes, and see if they will work or not.

But I have tried on *many* pairs of capris and haven't found a pair yet that work.

Not sure if you've ever seen bbc and WHAT NOT TO WEAR - (we now have an american version but not as good)... anyway, both women on the show and I agree NO ONE LOOKS GOOD IN CAPRI's! Even tall long legged women look more "squatty" in them... why bother? Many other options!!!!:earseek:

Add me to the list - 5' - and I look horrible in them!:o

Me too and I'm pretty tall - well I'm no cool drink of water like Snoopy :p but I am 5'8". I think it is because of all those years when I was a twig size 6 and couldn't find pants that were long enough so I got teased for having floods. I try and try but I just look like such a dorkus in capris.

I tried on about a billion pairs of pants today, looking for some new ones for dance class, and most of them were capris. They were all AWFUL! Like you said, they either looked like regular pants that were awkwardly too short, or fell at some other weird length.

I think we need a personal DIS tailor to design them for us ;)

Love them! I'm 5'4" with a long torso. You can dress them up or down. I think there perfect for a summer evening.

Some of these fashions experts should walk the streets and see the injustice they are doing with there styles. Low rider pants that make a woman look like they are carrying an extra tire for the car around their waist.

I think this style may go down as one of the all time worst, un-flattering styles ever.

I'm 6 ft tall and also had trouble finding pants long enough while growing up. So with capris I feel and look like I am wearing regular pants that are too short.

I LOVE them, too!

I have very small calves and they make them look shapely! Also, they're a great alternative to shorts, which I WILL NOT WEAR and wish more woman wouldn't either.... :earseek:

I am 5'4 and I Love them I have so many pair of them.I have worn alot more capris this year than shorts. You can get pretty dressy or you be very casual in capris.I buy a pair or two everytime I shop.

Misty

I hate them also. And it drives me crazy to see people wearing them instead of shorts when it is 90 degrees out. They do not look professional either when people where them to work.

Where did you find them? I'm 5'5" and have an awful time trying to find some that look decent on me.They're all too long and make me look squatty & strange. I want some that hit right at the knee area and all the oneds i find are down mid-calf or so. YUCK!

I'm 5'3" and capri pants make me look even shorter, which I don't need. About 1/3 of the people I see wearing them look really good, the rest - not so good.

Trust me, us cool drinks of waters look like dorkus' in capris too. :p My legs are way too long to wear capris, I don't even bother trying them on anymore -- there isn't a pair in any store, in any part of the world that are gonna look good on me so I just pass them by.

I'm 5'3, and I have to admit owning a few pair. But for all of you who don't like them, good news...they seem to be going out of style. I don't think you'll see many around next Spring. These skirts that fall at the knee, however, seem here to stay for a bit.

Oh great, another style that looks horrid on me. :( I gotta wear either very long skirts almost to my ankles, or very short skirts that show the whole leg. Nothing that falls at the knee works for my legs/body type.

It's interesting that you tall folks don't like capris because you feel like you are - again - wearing too short of pants. The reason I like them is for once they are pants that don't go to my ankle because they're not supposed to!

My DH doesn't care for most capris, though, and he will be happy if they go out of style. And I'm fortunately finding more and more stores carrying "long" slacks.

So, if I am understanding you correctly, there are women of a certain size who should NOT wear shorts, simply because of their shape?? So, they should be hot in the summer because their bodies aren't good enough for shorts??

I really hope I am misunderstanding what you're saying, because otherwise, that's got to be one of the most ridiculous things I've read on here lately
