Capri pants

Capris are fine on me. I am so short that they fit me as full length pants and I don't have to hem them.

I'm 5'4" and I love capris, clam diggers, whatever you call them. I don't wear shorts anymore.

So, if I am understanding you correctly, there are women of a certain size who should NOT wear shorts, simply because of their shape?? So, they should be hot in the summer because their bodies aren't good enough for shorts??

Oh, I understand what she is saying. There are some women that if they could see what others see, wouldn't wear shorts. Or maybe they would wear longer shorts. And for that matter, there are some women that need to take a look at their behind in the mirror when they try on a pair of pants and buy them.

I'm overweight so I know how I look in a pair of shorts. That's why I don't wear them anymore. But if others want to wear them, that's fine by me. I also look in the mirror at the front and back of me before I buy a pair of pant, capris, etc.

I'm 5'3" and capris are good because most long pants are too long, I always end up stepping on the backs of them.

I really hope I am misunderstanding what you're saying, because otherwise, that's got to be one of the most ridiculous things I've read on here lately

I hear women saying they look horrid in capris in this post and I've seen women of ALL sizes and shapes in shorts that look HORRID in them. Shorts show a LOT more than capris and I've seen some that just look horrendous on some people but rarely have seen people look bad in capris. This is what I meant.

What I don't understand is why so many people think they look bad in capris? Is it because of the way they feel like "highwater" pants or because they make them look shorter... this I don't see. I am less than 5 feet and I like the length of capris. On the other hand my thighs are not the shape they were in when I was in my 20s so I'm GLAD I don't have to show them but still wear something that's a bit cooler than long pants.

If you found what I said to be the most ridiculous thing you've read in a while than you don't read this board a lot. I've been subject to way worse than this, DAILY!

I'm 5'4" (..and a half -due to Pilates LOL) and I love capris!

I think they look good depending on what kind of shoe you wear with them.
I also like the cropped pants that come almost to the ankle..
I wear shorts all the time, but like capris if we're going out to eat for example, or if it's a little cool for shorts

Unfortunately, capris make my calves look bigger. I like to wear longer shorts, to a bit above my knee. That works for me. I do like the idea of capri pants but just not for me!

Actually, all kidding aside, I know exactly what you are talking about. Short shorts look good on very few people. I'm one of them (I think!) but longer shorts look horrid on me. Its usually the opposite for people. I think for me because I have long legs and a short waist, capris and longer shorts are out for me.

Exactly! I feel like I'm walking around in pants that are way too short for me. It wouldn't bother me if they made me look shorter since I am so tall.

When I wear capris they aren't called capris, they're called pants.

I'm not even 5 ft tall. I decided never to wear them again since they just turn out to be pants.

I wear crops and capris all the time. My favorites are cargo carpri's. I don't wear shorts.

Are you kidding, cuz!! You are the very person who reminds me that I should NEVER wear them!!

I don't think I'll ever forget how adorable you looked in those cut offs! As you said, there are some people who CAN and some who cannot. I'm one who CAN'T!!

Thanks for the explanation, legs22. I just came from shopping and now I find myself just STARING at women in capris! I've seen all shapes and sizes today and they all looked pretty good to me. Maybe they decided that BEFORE they walked out the door!

Actually, Robinrs, those women on "What Not To Wear", would agree with you. They think that shorts should be banned for all women unless gardening or camping. Since seeing that show on Oprah, I've found myself buying more cute summer skirts this year as an alternative to shorts because I can't get their voices out of my head.

I have yet to buy a pair of capris because I haven't found any suitable (i.e. flattering) ones. I am also short and find that capris come to my ankles!

Yesterday I saw a woman who looked about 65 wearing short shorts and her top was so tight it looked like a sausage casing-all in white. It was scary.
