How's the food and service at Cap'n Jacks in Downtown Disney? We are from the southern plains and yearn for decent seafood. Yea or nay?

It is a fun place and the food is decent but I would not rave about the seafood the couple of times that we have been there.I actually preferred lunch over dinner the last time. Have you checked out the menu lately as they removed the twin lobster tails from the menu last fall.

bigtime nay! horrid food. the only meal we had at disney last time that was just downright inedible. we actually heard the waiter tell a "trainee" to make sure if he knew about whether or not the customer was on DDP because the chef made sure to give them smaller portions!

that being said when we went we had a GREAT view of the lake by our table and good service. the place was practically empty (for a reason though).

If you're looking for seafood at Disney, my son had the salmon at Coral Reef in Epcot and said it was very good. I had the scallops appetizer and was quite pleased with it.

Now, if you want some honest-to-goodness great seafood and some to-die-for corn fritters, visit Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. The ribs were also very good. We ate there after we visited the Kennedy Space Center. You'd need a car though.
