178 days until our trip of a lifetime !!!
Kids are over the moon !!! :wizard:

Chef Mickey's is "wilder." Several times during your breakfast the characters will coerce everyone into picking up their napkins and twirl them over their heads. The younger kids LOVE this.

Now, I prefer the Cape May. I love Goofy. I find the Cape May to be less busy and we get WAY more time with the characters there than even I would like. I have found that the few times I've been to Chef Mickey's, it seems to take forever to get the characters to my table. At the Cape May, you might get several visits from Goofy and LOTS of time with him. I feel the characters are more rushed at Chef Mickey's because it is bigger and busier.

I also the think the food is better at Cape May.

Either way, you can't go wrong.

One thing to consider is which characters are important. When I asked DS he said the one character he really wanted to see was Mickey, so Cape May was out for us. We're going back for our second trip to CM's this August.

We've been to both, although it's probably been 4 years since Cape May. They are both excellent breakfast buffets. As I remember Cape May, it was more laid back. The characters all came around to the tables, but there was no dancing or napkin waving like there is at Chef Mickey's. Chef Mickey's is louder and more frenzied, but a lot of fun.

We went to Cape May when our son was small and it was best for him as he is kind of quiet and reserved. Now that he is older, he loves Chef Mickey. Our daughter went to Chef Mickey at 9 months and loved it.

One thing to note, I don't remember Mickey at Cape May, only Minnie.

Have fun!

Yes, the characters are different.

Cape May has Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, Chip & Dale (all in beach attire).

Chef Mickey's is Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale (and I think one more that I cannot remember....).

I HAVE DONE BOTH, AND THERE ARE CASES YOU CAN MAKE FOR BOTH. CHEF MICKEY'S-- HAS MICKEY(SOMETIMES DONALD TOO), ITS CLOSE TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM FOR AFTERWARDS/BEFORE MEAL, AND IS MORE "FESTIVE". NOW CAPE MAY HAS BETTER FOOD , MORE INTERACTION/TIME WITH CHARECTERS, QUIETER, AND ADR'S ARE EASIER TO GET. DON'T THINK YOU CAN GO WRONG WITH EITHER! :hourglass

I had to make this same decision for my great nephew's first visit to WDW. He is six and arriving on Saturday (YEAH - with his Mom-Mom - my sister). I love Cape May, but thought that Chef Mickey was the best choice since it is near MK, has the monorail going through the Contemporary, and of course it has Mickey. It just seemed more "traditional" Disney to me! We have not been to Chef Mickey in three years, and my sis had never been to a character meal, she usually makes adults only trips to WDW, so this will be special for all of us!
