DH would like to go for 1 dinner with some seafood so we have it narrowed down to these 2 places. Thanks!

We love Cape May Cafe, eat there every year. We did try Coral Reef 2 years ago and enjoyed it as well. The food was very good, although I had a hard time finding something to order, it is mainly fish choices rather than a variety of seafood. Our service was horrible, the waiter was too busy flirting with some young ladies. We did enjoy the atmosphere though very nice. However my first choice would be Cape May, we have always had great service there. you can get shrimp, clams, mussels and a variety of other items. On that note though the kids want to go to Coral Reef again this year so we are going back but we are still fitting Cape May Cafe in.

If you are looking to go for seafood go to Flying Fish or Fultons. We love Cape May but they do not have much seafood at all. Coral Reef was good but not as good as the other two places I mentioned

You will have 2 totally different experiences at these two locations:

Cape May Clambake - this is a buffet, with all kinds of choices, but as said above somewhat limited on seafood. The name can lead you to believe you would like seafood ( shrimp, lobster, crab, etc ) Sometimes you can find one or two of these items but not all three. To borrow a term from the Resort end of things - this would be considered a Moderate resturant.

Coral Reef - this is a sit down table service. This is mostly seafood but you can get some surf and turf as well as at least one chicken entree and one steak entree. This is definately higher end. The view here is fantastic of the tanks, which is the big draw. Our table was in the last row and we were still able to see the fish and enjoy.
