Cape May and Chef Mickey brkfst buffet recent observances...

I feel good about our choice of Chef Mickey's for our first meal with the family in August!! It's been at least 20 years since we've eaten there, now we have DGC to introduce to WDW!

I have ate at CM for breakfast and dinner it is one of our favorites. It's got a good selection at dinner and breakfast was good this year not as great as it has been but it was good.

Has anyone had a late breakfast at CM, if so was it ok. We have a late ADR on the day we arrive around 11:20 am. I am afraid that it is so late that they will not have much fresh stuff out or available. Does anyone have any experience with this??

Chef Mickey's has been our favorite character breakfast for as long as I can remember. Every once in a while, we try a new one, but return back to CM.

Wow, such a surprise about your breakfast at Cape May. We had breakfast there last saturday and enjoyed it. Did you go for a late breakfast? Just curious, if maybe it had slowed down and they slowed down on resfreshing it as well. Everything we ate was nice, soft good and fresh and hot. So sorry your experience was not the same. The fruit was good and ripe as well. The blintzes we ate had just a very few mini marshmellows and chocolate chips sprinkled on them.

I agree, I'd love to see them add yogurt with the fruit and such. I love yogurt for breakfast. Also, love the idea of sides to put on blintzes so you have a choice of toppings and to keep them plain. Great idea. Hey Cape may, are you reading this?? LOL!

I've had breakfast at CM's as well. I enjoy both equally. I love the Clam Bake at Cape May for dinner though. It is one of our favorites!

Cape May is a smaller buffet but it usually is good. Maybe they were having an off day.

We tried CM's for the first time last trip. We were so surprised at the variety and quality of the food after reading so many bad reviews. We only went because the kids wanted to go. We will definitely be going back. We haven't tried it for dinner yet.

Funny - just read a review from someone talking about the yogurt bar, etc. and how good Cape May was .... ummm....now what is one to do?

We've been to Chef Mickeys for both dinner and breakfast neither were a disappointment. We liked the clam bake at Cape May. In fact I remember being so full that I had to walk around the lake 3 times.

We were at Cape May for breakfast two weeks ago and noticed this too. The waitress was very hurried, unfriendly....and downright..snarky!! The biscuits were hard....we didn't try the pastries. They DID have a nice yogurt/fruit bar though. It wasn't with the rest of teh buffet, but over on the side near the entrance. Lots of fresh berries...but, alas, no parfait dishes..people started bringing over cereal bowls and filling them with berries...making the fruit disappear much faster.

I was full (but I'm not a picky eater), but was not rushing to return to this one!

I'm a bit worried because we have ADR's there in two weeks for dinner. We did this just because we are staying at the Beach Club...maybe I should switch to Coral Reef (still seafood).

Yay that we made a good decision changing the Princess Breakfast to Chef Mickey's.

Asking again, (please!), is Minnie ever there?

We've gone 3 times, all for breakfast during the fall. All 3 times the characters were Goofy (outside in the lobby area), Minnie, Mickey, Chip & Dale circulating around the tables.

My 3 yr old DS actually refers to Minnie as "his girl" - she made kiss noises when he met her our last visit to CM's and he immediately fell in love!

It's funny, in the past I was always the one to say that Chef Mickey's was over rated but after this past visit, and it's been a good year (because it was just "ok"), I was impressed so hopefully you all will have a good experience as well.

The amount of characters makes it worthwhile too. I think this meal has the most characters of all the character meals. I've already made ADR's for our Oct. trip so hopefully it'll be just as good again.

Maybe if we take a break from Cape May it'll improve??

Me and my family LOVED chef mickey's. we thought it was on of the best. sorry about the other resturant. i thought chef mickey's[when we went there] was amazing. they had every little detail. and i thought the characters were very good. my family adn the little ones loved it and hope you will too. xo

We were there last month and it was the best buffet I have ever been to. The fresh fruit was the best, tons of it and many different varieties. I dont know why people say it is a small buffett...it is just as large as CP in my opinion. The only place I saw asparagus on the buffet, that is a huge plus for me

We ate at 7:45 so the place was basically empty and we had tons of time with the characters.

We loved it so much we are going back next month.
