Cape Canaveral question

Am wondering if I am better off/cheaper to get a hotel around cape canaveral for a few days or stay at disney for a few extra days and day trip it.
we have to rent a car either way but if I am able to add extra days to our disney ressie than I don't have to worry about getting back to MCO

We spent 10 nights at WDW, and a day trip to the Kennedy Space Centre was certainly sufficient.

You only need one day to visit the Space Center, you could day trip it easily, just leave early in the morning. You will be tired coming back but if you don't want to leave WDW it can be done. We stayed in Port Canaveral once and travelled into WDW even a few times and it was fine.

This is one of those YMMV things. We spent 2 days at KSC, and still didn't see everything. Some people can see everything they want to in a few hours. It depends on how much you want to see, and how much of an astronut you are. There's also some other nifty things to see in the Titusville area, so you could actually make a pretty good side trip out of it.

We went to the Jungle Adventure as well, and really enjoyed that. It's a mini zoo with some attractions and shows. The best part, though, is the hands on section, where you get to pet a skunk and a florida panther, and hold an alligator and (optional) a tarantula.
