Cape Canaveral before the Cruise

Hi,

My DH and I are sailing on the Disney Magic on 9/18/04. This will be our fourth Disney cruise, but we are considering spending an extra day or two in Cape Canaveral to see the Kennedy Space Center. Always before we've used the Disney motorcoaches, so I'm not familiar with the different transportation options available to us. Do we Have to rent a car if we want to stay in Port Canaveral and visit the Space Center, or are there public transportation options? And would one day be enough?

We will be on our third DCL cruise in as many years in October. After our previous two cruises we have spent a few days in the Canaveral area. To my knowledge there is no public transportation available (we always drive down though). All the major auto rental companies have a presence in the area and you can get a rundown of them on Dave's site. There's plenty to do in the area and we usually spend three or four days there post cruise.

Hi Karen - unfortunally there isn't really much transportation offered other than renting a car - now there is a bus that runs from Cape Canaveral to the Merritt Square Mall and back - this is it --you will need some form of transportation since it is hard to get around - I would be more than happy to send you information on Cape Canaveral and I do have some discount coupons for the space center also Maps of Cape canaveral/Brevard County - you have a Space Coast magazine that would give you insight to this area - and if you get lost - you are always welcomed to call the shop at 321-799-4438 or 800-950-4559 and we will be more than happy to help in any way we can.
