Just to let everyone know about some of the menu changes at Cantina de San Angel. It was reported that the combination platter is gone, but there are others gone too (will they be back after FD is anyone's guess). When I first arrived I was shocked that there were only 4 food items to order for adults. The cantina nachos, guacamole nachos, a pull pork burrito, and basically chicken nachos. Thats it, no chicken tacos, no mexican salad, no beef burrito (though the pulled pork was very good, leave the foil wrapper on or else very messy). The kids quesadilla is now only cheese, no more chicken. But I am glad to see that they are now offering fresh salsa its really good.

One thing I learned while there is that Disney has really raised the prices of their food. Even though we were on free dining I still looked at prices. A salad with steak at ASMu was $10. We are going in Dec (room only) and we will rarely eat at Disney. The prices are just getting very expensive. Bottles of water and coke are now $2.50 (not sure when they went up).

I believe the soda bottles in the parks went up to $2.50 from $2 in March. If you buy them from a vending machine, they are now $2.75.

$2.75 is the regular cost for a bottle of soda in the Universal parks.

(I know what Diet Coke costs everywhere I go)

Thanks for reporting back on the menu changes. Sounds like Cantina is an official "miss" for me now. (I finally forgave them for my nacho disaster, and ended up enjoying the chicken tacos.)

Now they are focusing on their week point (nachos) and their other offering is beef (which I can't eat)

Remember last year when they were saying that they weren't going to serve them on ice anymore in the parks?!?! :scared1:

Removed Commercial Link

Thanks for posting the link. I don't remember them offering Chicken nuggets, maybe they stopped because they didn't go with the mexican theme. The Burrito de Carnitas was very good though. But given these prices I am not sure we will continue to eat at Disney.

Oh on our AK day they had me do a big survey on dining and if I thought it was a good value. So I guess they are feeling out these new prices. its funny to have that survey going on during free dining. What ever your point of view was the survey wanted to know why you answered that way. For wait time I put just ok and it asked why did you answer just ok? If I had known it was that extensive I probably would have skipped the survey. I had DGS3 with me.

My DS is so dissapointed he loved the combo plate! He had planned on eating here next wk but he said never mind! So sad..

That is disappointing. I would really call that three adult meal choices, as I don't consider chips and dips to be a meal. Well, thanks for sharing this info.

:)

Well that's just plain sucky. If there are no tacos on the menu we won't go back. Nachos is a snack, not lunch. :snooty:

No plato combinacion, no Duck using his precious cs option on Mexico. The only thing I'm sure of eating at Epcot was that. Probbably swap that over to Sunshine Seasons. That menu doesn't give enough to carry me through to my Le Cel dinner ADR.

Yes, I took them off my list after this change. I did enjoy their previous menu, but not this new one.

Oh man, the combination platter was my FAVORITE CS meal in WDW!!!!! I am so bummed:confused3.

Wow I am so dissappointed to hear this. We were planning to eat there next week for lunch. We always love the view and love the combo platter.

What a horrible shame that Disney keeps shrinking the options, and portions and yet the prices keep going up and up.:sad2:

It is like they are really trying to get rid of repeat customers and only cater to those new customers who have never been, and have no clue what they miss.

We go back year after year for the continued memories but the taste left in your mouth by these constant negative changes is getting more and more sour :sad1:
