Just checking in now that I'm back from Disney.

I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed texting with you during the trip. It was fun sharing my time with another Disney lover!

EEEEEK! Do I still have any readers out there?!? I am guilty of staying away from this PTR like the plague. Sorry! Life has just dealt us a lot of lemons lately, and I wanted to try to make some lemonade from it all before I came back over here. I just don't want to be a Debbie Downer on the Disboards...they are a happy place!

So, while I make lemonade out of a few more developments in life, I am just here to check in and tell all of you I have not completely abandoned this thing yet.

We had Charity's AG Tea Party this past weekend. It turned out GREAT! I have pictures, but Brian downloaded them to the home computer...so I have to wait until I get home tonight to upload them to photobucket. I will post them on here tomorrow, promise!

Life has just dealt us a lot of lemons lately, and I wanted to try to make some lemonade from it all before I came back over here. So, while I make lemonade out of a few more developments in life, I am just here to check in and tell all of you I have not completely abandoned this thing yet.

FWIW... Dis friends are very good at helping to make lemonade out of lemons... My Dis friends have been a huge support to me over the last few weeks... and since we share a lot of the same friends - I can only imagine I speak for everyone when I tell you that we are all HERE for you...

But in the same breath - we totally understand how hard it is to be here when life is being hard on you.

Gabe played even MORE in the play area there, before it was time to head home. It was a wonderful day Saturday. I got to meet two wonderful new friends, and I had the best date day with my little man! I cannot tell you how many times he told me "Thank you for taking me to Opry Mills, Mommy" "That was so much fun, wasn't it Mommy?"

That's awesome! My kids love going there, too. DS4 thinks we have to eat at Rainforest everytime and my older two like to walk over to the hotel just to stroll. Looks like you all had a great day!!

Now, on with the show...Last weekend we hosted a wonderful 11th birthday party for Charity Marie. Today is her actual birthday, but we knew she would be out of town, so we hosted it last weekend. It was a LOT of work, but so worth it. Everyone had a great time, and Charity was made to feel very special. As a middle child, I am sure she doesn't feel that way often, no matter how hard we try.

So without further ado.....the party!!!

Decorations:

(Jillian made and decorated the cupcakes!)

(Charity specifically requested Grape Salad)

(Brian assembled the veggie and cracker/cheese trays...he did SO GOOD!)

"The Help":

They started out with a game of AG Bingo:

Then they moved to the table for lunch and fruit tea:

Then Charity wanted to do gifts, since a couple of friends would have to leave early:

After gifts, the party resumed in the dining room with hot tea and desserts:

After desserts, they moved BACK to the living room for a "make your own American Girl" art activity (I found a Barbie kit with girl head sketches, crayons and make-up and just cut off the bottom of the pages that said Barbie ):

After art, we moved outside for a game of Croquet...the girls LOVED THIS:

Two of the girls had to leave after this, and the remainder of the girls stayed to watch an AG movie. It was a great time, and I was EXHAUSTED when it was over!

Secondly... Awesome - awesome party... You always throw the best parties... The food is always presented so perfectly and you always choose the best/coolest foods to serve... I love how (I assume) you used your good dinnerware for the occasion (if not - it's very pretty for every day dinnerware )... I just love everything about it. The "help" looked fabulous dressed for the part... Just a great job all around.

Thank you so much for sharing with us - and making it feel like we were there to celebrate too!

Thanks, Ariana! The food was yummy...but boy were some of those girls picky. It drove me crazy to see some of them not make ANY healthy food choices at the party....but I am not their Mommy, so I could not say a word.

Thank you D~! I really do enjoy throwing these parties. I wish I had all the money in the world sometimes to do things like this for my family all the time...but then it would no longer be as special, right? And yes, that was the china I got when Brian and I got married years ago. I love to use it for lots of special occasions. I chose a plain white china so that it would be versatile with many different occasions, colors and decorations.

I really do miss my Dis interactions, but sometimes it is just too difficult to face. I know you can understand that.
