Can't We Just Travel by Map? Oct 2013 PTR

It looks like you had a wonderful Easter! All of the goodies in the baskets look so good. Gabe in his three piece suit is just too cute! And the girls look great too. The cake with the Peep bunnies is so creative.

I spent my Easter day cleaning Mini Blinds and washing curtains in anticipation of my Mom and Brother's visit in a few weeks. My Mom (love her) likes to point out all the spots I forgot to clean. She doesn't mean any harm by it but I try to have everything spotless for when she comes!

what an AWESOME Easter!!!!!
I just realized i've been reading along with you for a YEAR!!!! I remember the resurrection baking thing from last year!!! :thumbsup2
Which reminds me... qhen you have a chance will you please send me the recipe???

No Insults... well not yet anyway... :thumbsup2

Loved seeing all the wonderful pictures of you and your family on Easter! What a wonderful celebration!

I agree Mo - I can't believe we have all been friends for so long... We are all so lucky!

D~

It looks like your Easter was fabulous. Absolutely nothing wrong with an indoor egg hunt. I love hearing about other family's traditions on holidays...the resurrection bread is very neat.

I love the cake the kids made. They did such a great job. Too cute!

Hey, stranger!
Sorry I have been seriously MIA from the Disboards. I haven't even finished my own TR...:guilty:

I just saw all that has been going on in your life lately...holy crow....that is just too much. I am sorry to hear that you guys have had so much stress!

You have lots of love here on the disboards, and I just wanted you to know that there is more from this fellow poster...

Wishing you and your family lots and lots of pixie dust!!!pixiedust:pixiedust:

Oy, not a fun way to spend a holiday weekend! My mom, thankfully, loves to clean WHILE she is at my house... and do our laundry! :confused3 I do not like clutter, so my house is ALWAYS picked up and organized...but sometimes dusty. It is just hard to do everything when you work full time and have three kids. I am sure cleaning after a hubby and three furries is no picnic either. :sad2:

We've been Disfriends for a year? Wow...time DOES fly when you are having fun!!! :dance3:

No real recipe for the rolls... just take a big marshmallow, roll it in melted butter, then cinnamon sugar, then wrap a crescant roll around it and bake it til it's golden. It took about 10 minutes for ours. That's it, easy peasy lemon squeezy! :thumbsup2

Thanks Pixie! Thank you for responding to my PM. I would love to try to arrange a Dismeet with you while I am in Louisville if you are game! As June gets closer, I will have to find out the details of my weekend and try to squeeze in some time for a little Disney magic! pixiedust:

I HAVE MISSED YOU, friend!!!! I am embarrassed to say that I un-subbed to your TR about a month ago, because I was afraid you weren't coming back. Forgive me? :flower3: I will get back over there and sub again, promise!

Yes, this whole trip or no trip drama has been quite the roller coaster, indeed. :sad2: We have always paid cash for our Disney trips, and this year we just couldn't do it. I am just excited to still be able to go to Florida, and beyond that I will enjoy WHATEVER we get to do while we are there. Disney will be there in 2014 when our financial situation will look much better. We will have several things paid off completely by then. :yay: Besides, our dates didn't coincide with yours this year...maybe they will next year and we will FINALLY get to meet in person! :thumbsup2

So, we are still unsure of whether we will be able to get any park time in this October at all. We may not know until August or September. :( Up until this point, I hadn't been able to make any sort of concrete plans about ANY of our trip since we are still waiting for Brian's bonus at work. It should come in the next week or so, though.

BUT, thanks to a great Disfriend I now have a FEW plans...and they ARE Disney related! :earboy2: My dear Disfriend Cheekypoppins has found a way to sprinkle some pixie dust into my life yet again! :goodvibes She and I chat quite a bit on FB. Last week, I was lamenting the fact that it is almost ADR time and I won't get to do it this year. She felt sorry for me and decided to play a little game with me. She sent me her dates and park days of choice...and let me create a dream ADR list for her October trip! :surfweb: So, I got to work and created a fun dining schedule for her. She LOVED it, and with a few date changes, decided to go with ALL of my choices! :cheer2:

AND...we made a few plans of our own! We are meeting up at Boardwalk Bakery on her Epcot day for a mid-afternoon cupcake and some time for the kiddos (and adults ::yes::) to play in the sand on the beach together. :beach: Another day, our family will be joining her family at POFQ for some pool time and a Toy Story themed pizza party in their room. I am beyond excited about all of this, but I am MOST excited to finally meet her!!!! :cool1:

Can I just say it again? Disfriends are the BEST! :grouphug:

Awe, I'm glad you are getting some Disney magic even if it isn't park time! I bet that was fun to plan all of the restaurants for Carrie and her family.

I agree - and I am here all the time. I cannot stand a messy house. How awesome that your mom cleans for you. :thumbsup2

Awww... Thanks Oopsi... You make my heart go melty. :lovestruc

In all seriousness - the honor is all mine... Your family has really inspired me to be a much better person - and I just love all the wonderful things you do together. I hope that some day we'll meet again. :wizard:

For Brian's sake - I hope they aren't Granny Panties as well. :rolleyes1

I hope you get this bonus soon - if for no other reason that to relieve your mind that it's here - and hopefully some Disney plans will come out of it.

You know i am going to screw this up somehow with your fun little quirk of
"That's it, easy peasy lemon squeezy!"
I will have camera ready while rolling marshmallows in melted butter does not sound easy.. I will look like spider man had the flu, with marshmallows ALL OVER me, the house, kids, and dogs... I do not have good vibes on this...
I will be trying it..

Bring 'em on...I put on my big girl panties today!!! :rotfl2:

Pee wee herman's giant underwear???

:cheer2: but your going to be IN Florida!!! with possible Disney fun stuff!
::yes:: it was told to me like that and it helped TONS... Disney will be there
No matter what and who knows maybe something will be new!!!

Oh I am so glad you are getting to have some Disney fun. I was going to mention just going to a few resorts and hanging out. I could EASILY fill a vacation with just resort hopping ::yes::

We would do Boma for dinner one night and visit the animals and just soak up AKL's beauty. We would head over to AoA to check it out and eat in their amazing food court. And of course there is the POR/POFQ thing with the boat to DTD. So much fun can be had outside of the parks for free!

Sounds like a great time. pixiedust:

We finally made it below the 200 day mark a few weeks ago, and I am getting SUPER excited about our trip...now if Brian's company will get that bonus check into our hands soon, I could make some concrete plans! :sad2:

Well, if Mo gets her way, we may just be planning a Chicago Dismeet in the future! :thumbsup2

Ahem.....no granny panties in MY wardrobe... :rolleyes1

Brian told me over the weekend that he should get that bonus check at the END of the month...oh the torture!!! :headache:

I am VERY excited about our plans with Cheeky and her family! :woohoo:

I have only one thing to say in response...

"You ain't neva had a friend, neva had a friend, neva....had a...friend...liiiiiiiiiike MEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Do tell me how your rolls turn out when you try them! popcorn::

You know what? I think I will just leave the whole "panties" wondering to your imagination... :lmao:

SSHHHH....don't tell my family, but I sort of hope we DON'T get our one day in Magic Kingdom, because I would rather wait until we can take a full week's vacay to WDW to REALLY enjoy New FL. I would be happier with a one day to Epcot or HS...or one of the non-Disney parks for this trip.

I am thinking Cheeky and I are going to get into some crazy trouble... I mean FUN when we finally meet each other in October... :cool2:

Those are just the sort of plans I intend to make once we get that bonus money in our hands!

Related to the suggestions that Suzi gave, I do have a question for my Dis-experts: Would we have to pay parking at the resorts we want to visit while we are there??? :confused3 I mean I would prefer to spread out the resort visits to sprinkle them over every other day or so.... would we have to pay those outrageous parking fees each time we did that? What would you suggest as any other options?

I don't know for sure but I'm guessing that you would have to pay each day since you aren't staying there.

I'll probably get slapped on the hand for suggesting this but you could park for free at DTD and take a bus to the resort. Of course that's going to depend on how much of a construction mess DTD is during that time.

I get to make my ADRs on Monday! :dance3: Of course I'm still not going to know if this trip is actually happening until the end of August. If the budget process gets delayed I may have to cancel. :( I will be doing some serious whip cracking mid August because I need to make this trip happen! I'm not sure I'll get Jim to agree to another one. :rotfl:

Yeah...I was going to suggest the DTD thing too. And if you have an ADR at the resort, you can park there for a few hours for free. I know when my parents came to the Poly and stayed with us for a few nights, they never even checked the car. I had the parking pass in the room the whole time....oops. But that was early Feb and the least busy time of the year.

Well, if Mo gets her way, we may just be planning a Chicago Dismeet in the future! :thumbsup2

YES YES YES YES!!! we must work on this...

Ahem.....no granny panties in MY wardrobe... :rolleyes1

I am NOT imagining anyone's underwear unless it's "tater Chans" as D~ so loves to call him...

Brian told me over the weekend that he should get that bonus check at the END of the month...oh the torture!!! :headache:

UGH THE AGONY!!! hate the suspense of that!!!!

Do tell me how your rolls turn out when you try them! popcorn::

oh i will try even if i am stuck on the ceiling by the marshmallow...

I would agree with everyone else.. you can tell the front desk your visiting someone go and park and go where you need. :duck:
i am sure we are all going to get yelled at for this!!!! :stir:
or like everyone else said park at DTD and go where you need!!! it's not like your sneaking into anything or taking advantage of the parks...
