Can't use Tickets now?

Hi All, not sure if this is the right section, but I have 2 x 7 days passes with Genie + that I now can't use because the 2 people that were coming cancelled. They are the non-refundable type that can only move a few days (they have a window of dates). Does anyone have any experience on getting anything from Disney for these, like maybe a voucher to put toward out AP or something? Just trying not to be completely out of pocket for the cost.

TIA!

Unless these are some kind of special tickets (like YES or some convention tickets), they will hold value as a credit towards new tickets in the future -- or towards an AP renewal. I recommend you keep note of the ticket number(s) and value(s) because it is likely to disappear from your view in MDE after the stated expiration date. WDW can retrieve them for the credit.

You could transfer the tickets to someone else in your planning party (like yourself), that you could use in a future date. When we bought APs last year, the castmember was able to use the credit from a future ticket that we had towards our AP tickets.

yep if unused, you can transfer them to someone else and use them as a credit for future ticket purchases (unless they are comp, convention, or other special tickets)

But as mentioned they’ll need to be transferred (before they expire… ) into the name of whomever will use the credit in the future. (Or at least the persons making the purchase… as far as I know, they won’t let you use credit from someone else’s ticket to buy one for yourself or your family.)

Gone are the days when a ticket isn’t “assigned” to its owner until it is used for the first time.

Also, make sure you have the tix details documented so that it can be looked up later, because it will “disappear” once it is expired. It can be found again, but only if you have the tix details— otherwise you’re almost certainly out-of-luck. A screenshot of details in MDE works, but I’m OCD about documenting stuff so I’d keep any vouchers, etc. too.

You will have to call IT to have the ticket reinstated to a new date when you choose to use it. We had to do this a couple of weeks ago. Our new park date was cheaper than the original AK date so we were able to use the credit to pay for Genie.
