Can't use Kohls percent off on Nike products

As others have said, your beef is with NIKE, not Kohls, JC Penney, Macy's, etc. You are choosing to buy the products from a MANUFACTURER who is practically price fixing their product. That is your choice, of course, but don't blame the retailer. They have no choice but to follow Nike's rules if they want to carry their products.

Yep. Stop buying Nike and maybe they will change their policy. People want the Nike name and Nike knows it.

Just want to mention its not just Nike. Johnson & Johnson recently did a price fix on their Accuvue Oaysis contacts in the US. Cant use any coupons or anything on them here. (I bought from a Canadian company)

I tried to purchase K-Cups for Valentines gifts, Customer Service desks employee told us that %off's are no longer valid on consumables. The customer service employee wasn't happy about it either.

K cups?! You can't use Kohl's cash for K cups?! All of this is just one more reason not to shop at Kohls. Having to play the coupon/Kohls cash/sale game every time, plus their changed return policies.... Don't like shopping them to begin with, but the exclusions may just be the icing.

No Kohl's cash for consumables and changed return policy - what changed??

Have had it with Kohls - have slowly not shopped there anyway - 1/2 price is regular price anyway, and it's harder than ever to find good buys, IMO.

I know it's not Kohls' fault, but I won't be shopping there NEARLY as much as I have in the past. I tried purchasing a few different things recently with coupons and coupon codes and almost every item is excluded. So I decided to look elswewhere for items I need. It used to be so easy to walk in and get everything you needed and use a coupon for everything. I'm not sure what went wrong on their end and it's unfortunate but I won't shop there as much any more. It's too bad, really.

From what I understand it is because the more wanted brands, such as Nike, now demand their items not be discounted. Or the stores cannot carry their brand anymore. It is the same thing with the new makeup brands. They had to agree to not discount them in order to carry them.

I think, but I'm not sure, you still earn Kohls Cash on Nike and the other products, right? At least that is something.

I guess it boils down to, would you rather they not carry Nike at all?

What's the change with their return policy? I've not heard anything about that?

I was at Kohl's yesterday to use $10 in Kohl's cash and a $10 off of $30 coupon I had been mailed. I went to the boys department to look for Nike items for my son and was very surprised to see tons of Nike stuff on clearance - pants, sweatshirts and a few tshirts. They were actually pretty good clearance prices too and usually Kohl's only has them on clearance for a small % off. I picked up $30 worth and took it to the registers figuring I would get it for about $10 with the 2 discounts. Unfortunately I learned that they no longer accept coupons on Nike, only Kohl's cash.:( It did explain why there were so many Nike items on clearance though and why the % off was so high.

Since Nike/UA are mostly what my boys are looking for right now Kohls has lost a lot of my business. Thankfully we have a Nike and UA outlet, but both the pricing and selection at them varies so much that I was having better luck at Kohl's.

You can still earn and spend Kohl's cash on Nike, just no other discounts. The cashier did say that it was because Nike demanded it and that it was not a decision that Kohl's made.

this is so strange as I used a 10 of 30 and a 15% off at kohls earlier this morning. One of the things I bought was a pair of Nikes- they used both coupons.

Macy's, JCPenny and Carson's always have a LONG list of exclusions on their coupons. It would be easier for them to print what you CAN use the coupons for.

What has changed with the return policy at Kohls? I returned a bunch of gifts last week and had no problem.

It has nothing to do with Kohl's , it has everything to do with NIKE ...they think they are the big boys on the block, and maybe you made them become that...next time when you have a percet off at KOHLS choose ADIDAS instead of NIKE, or great ASICS shoes , better priced and some would say ASICS would easily compete with NIKE....many other great brand selections as well...
Only fault of Kohls is that they pourly advertise that the percetage off is not valid for NIKE, ...perhaps millions of buyers expect NIKE to get the prcent off as they were used to this for decades, they don't even pay attention to their receipts ,perhaps only when they don't wanna waist more time at customer service for a return..perhaps NIKE banks on this and they know in many cases some will get fooled and they get cash in..
What we can do?...1) Shop other brands....2)Demand KOHLS to advertise better that NIKE is not part of any percent off discount ...their sign states in some parts of the stores(they need those signs everywhere a NIKE is present) that certain NIKE products may not be eligible for percent off discounts....in reality NONE of the NIKE products are part of any percent off discounts, so clealery a missleading for the ones who are not aware...This is where I fault KOHLS, they need to be more specific, perhaps let NIKE slowly go, I think they'll come back with open arms when they'll learn you the consumer made them be...

Don't all Kohls stores have electronic signs? The one nearest me does, and the Nike signs state right at the bottom they are excluded from discounts.

I had a coupon for Shoe Carnival, and that too states Nike shoes are not included. It stinks, but the stores are not to blame for it. Nike is..

Probably most or all do, although NIKE is spread around and are also put in a few spots, again sign says "Some NIKE products"..that would make average buyer think that "SOME" would also be included, in reality no NIKE items are included, so sign shoudl state "ALL NIKE PRODUCTS" AND BNOT "SOME"

I'm guessing it is because some Nike products do go on sale. And a sale is a discount. Even though from what I have seen at all stores, the sale amount is now very small.

As long as you had other items in your order that weren't Nike they will take the coupon. If you only have Nike items the coupons won't work. If you look at your receipt and do the % off math you will find that the Nike items weren't discounted. At least that is what my experience has been. Most people don't check to see if the percentage was taken off of everything since Kohl's only puts the % off that you earned at the bottom of your receipt and not after each item.

Edit - this was supposed to reply to rdevine10

Kohls will no longer let you use percent off codes on Nike products!!!
I just went to order socks/sneakers with my 30% and they are excluded.
I am so disappointed as that was a huge savings :(
You can still earn Kohls cash on the purchase
Huh. I won't be buying nike at kohls any more. I actually have done pretty well at Nike.com. (Got a bunch of boys dri fit shirts for $10. With coupons I do okay at ****'s and sports authority.
I found out, at the register, that Nike brand items do not qualify for the Khols discounts. I "used to be" a lifelong loyal Nike purchaser and Kohls shopper. Not anymore.

I think we should all complain to Nike. It stinks that they are doing this! Maybe their sales will tank enough that they have to rethink this. That is what I am hoping anyway.
