Can't sleep and I hear birds chirping at 1:42am!

Why in the world are birds chirping at this hour?? I can't sleep (lots of stress right now) and I'm in bed and all I hear are birds! Don't they know it's after midnight!?!??! I've heard them at 4-5am before but never at this time of the night. Weird!

Anyone else up?

Well come here to Texas. The Grackles SCREAM all night long.
Although have not been as bad this year with all the rain.

I wonder if it has anything to do with tomorrow being the longest day of the year.

This is why I HATE Spring and Summer and LOVE Winter - silence is golden. I can't stand chirping birds, frogs, crickets, lawnmowers, kids running around screaming (I'm including my own on that list!), and the like. Give me a windchill of 10 degrees and a foot of snow anyday..... Clearly, I would not make a good Disney Princess!!!!

DH and I sleep with a room fan on.
That way we dont hear the birds in the morning and we dont hear the teenagers downstairs at night.(They tend to pull all-nighters)

I've just come to realize (with middle age) that birds are screaming at 3 in the morning here!

We have a bird's nest right outside our bedroom window and we can hear them chirping at night, too. DH and I just had a discussion yesterday about why on earth they're up during the night. I decided that it must be the menopausal female birds who AREN'T SLEEPING EITHER!
