Cant quite understand

the following

our use year is december

we purchased in July 2005 so this is all a bit new. logged on the members website to look at our points transaction and I don't understand why is shows/says - Borrow points from use-year 12/06 to 12/05.

if we are going in July 2006 and (we had to borrow points) then it would be 2007 points we borrowed.

If you had to borrow points for your July 2006 trip, the ONLY POSSIBLE points you could have borrowed would be those from 12/06. In July 2006, your current year's points would be those received on 12/1/05 (to be used or banked by 11/30/06). Your 12/06 points would be eligible to be borrowed to be used for a trip that takes place between 12/1/05 and 11/30/06, so it sounds like your online statement is correct.

For a July 2006 stay, you would still be in your 2005 use year (12/01/05 to 11/30/06), so you could only borrow 2006 points (12/01/06 to 11/30/07).

sorry I know I am being thick

so........... we would have got e.g. 100 points in december 2005
and then we would get another say 100 points coming in december 2006 and because it is december I am getting confused with going into the next callender year rather than the use year

Use Year is simply the month when your points are available for use and determines your banking deadlines.

You just got the use of your December, 2005 Use Year points. They are good for travel between 12/1/05 and 11/30/06. If you needed more points for a trip during that time frame, you would have borrowed from the next available Use Year - in this case, December, 2006.

Use Years have nothing to do with the calendar year and can get confusing - especially the December Use Year (since it mostly includes the following calendar year).
