***Can't keep us down...OFFICIAL MAY 2021 THREAD...come heck or high water we're going to WDW!!!***

Good Luck! When I made ours for May 6-14, 2021, Via Napoli was a tough get. It was the only one that gave me problems and I still didn't get it on pizza Friday--our tradition. I had to settle for Sunday, but hey--I got it! I won't even get into the glitches trying to book. :headache:
Thanks! We have a couple days we aren’t super set on park wise, so I’ve got a little flexibility. The reservation finder worked great for my last trip. I’m hoping they will open some more restaurants by then and thin those crowds a bit.

Yay for those getting their vaccines!

Update for our family: oldest daughter who,s an RN, has had both shots … hubby gets his second shot a week from Tuesday… youngest son, who has asthma, gets his first shot this Wednesday … youngest daughter, who has special needs, was called in the same day as me! We get our second shots on April 9th.

Only one without any shots at all is our oldest son - he doesn't have any medical issues so he may be waiting the longest. We have been calling around and asking for leftover appointments but nothing yet.

So I'm curious - how are you going in May finding dining availability? Anyone having trouble getting ADRs? If you are booking already?

Our trip is May 1-9. I was able to get everything we wanted for 6 people (although we are breaking up into parties of 2 and 4 for some meals at different restaurants-by choice). The only thing I don’t have is Oga’s. My daughter told me she wanted to go there a couple of days after our adr date.
ETA: We have one reservation from May 1-6 and another from May 6-9. We still got everything we wanted, including Mother’s Day brunch, with two adr dates.

We are there May 1-8 and aren’t really booking a ton-plan on epcot snacking and meals in room for a chunk of our meals. Group of 5. As I mentioned above we Got 50s Primetime and Skipper’s lunches no problem, and dinner for two for DH and I at Jaleo. Had to use reservation finder for Sanaa but got that for our first AKV night-still have them looking for a Topolino’s breakfast. We will be at Universal on the 9th so need to see if they have any good brunch options.

I had booked Grand Floridian Cafe for 5/13 with no problem on Sunday; I canceled it today when I booked a GF cabana instead for 5/13. Today, I ended up booking TRex for 5/18 with no problem. We don’t usually do any table service meals most trips now. But I saw plenty of availability this morning for various places. The only place I didn’t see on the days I wanted was 50s Prime Time but that’s probably because I was trying to book for 6 people. Just as well, my kids decided they would rather do TRex that day.

Dining solo, but I didn't have any issues getting the ADRs I wanted. I initially got a few for Olivia's breakfast/brunch, but added two more for Garden Grill lunch and Rose & Crown dinner a few days after my ADR window opened.

We are there 5/8 - 5/16. Getting online right at 6am, I was able to get all of our ADRs when we wanted for a party of 3. Big thing was we sometimes had to do a party of 4 to get availability to show up. We got some popular ones like Topolino's breakfast, Ogas, Homecomin' dinner, and Beaches and Cream dinner, along with some less popular ones.
Hope the availability continues through May!

I had no problems getting the adrs I needed (going 5/14-5/18)
Was able to get Ogas, Grand Floridian Cafe, Boathouse and Skipper canteen.
Which (btw, 😂) I changed my resort from Yacht club to Grand Floridian for those same dates.
I have a serious problem with changing my resort many time before I leave😂 but I honestly can't go any higher than this (originally started off-site at the B Resort to Pop to Caribbean Beach to Yacht Club and finally Grand Floridian.)

that's excellent! I suffer from the same affliction - my journey so far beginning in May 2020: POFQ, to CSR, to Gran Destino to AoA to offsite at Windsor Hills to Swan to Swan/Contemporary Garden Wing to now Swan/Contemporay Tower Bay Lake View for May 2022...my family says they won't believe me until we actually arrive that that is where we're staying...but I told them unless I switch to the Poly or Grand Floridian, I can't really go any higher!...but the Poly and GF do seem nice....hmmm

Two weeks ago my daughter and I took a quick trip to Disney, 2 nights, 2 days. Got to go to the F&GF. I like the slow pace as in not walking with drinks. We didn't try any of the food because we had a lunch reservation at Chefs but we did drink :drinking: We started with the Passion fruit Margarita in Mexico, then the Apfelschaumwein in Germany and then the Italian Margarita in Italy. All of them were awesome and can't wait to have them again.

Just found this thread. I was mid September but booked two backups - May 16-22 and another in August. Finally decided that May would be the keeper . Going solo staying at BWV. I love Flower and Garden so excited to be on the EPCOT area. I made my adrs this week and got mostly what I wanted . VN , B&C , HBD , LTT , GFC , HV , Y&Y, Trattoria . I didn’t get CM breakfast - GFC instead but will keep trying. Also , glad park hopping is back. Went in December - had a great time but would have been better with hoppers .

April 29-May 3. Split stay Bay Lake & Boardwalk. We were there in January and March for spring break. An adult long weekend to see the F&G festival.

Well KTP has posted a very disappointing article...
I have emailed his group to Please remove my email address from all KTP mailing lists.

I had an autistic son who has passed away. He would have been unable to keep a mask on. We would not have gone to Disney World at this time due for that reason. I feel it is very inappropriate for kTP to run an article drawing attention to a “Rapper” who made a video to make a statement regarding his family member be it a young child with ASD who was not allowed to enter the park without wearing a mask. Everyone coming to the parks should be well aware of the current safety requirements. So unless this “Rapper” felt he was entitled to an exception for his family he obviously arrived prepared to confront the Disney CMs.

KTP should be supporting Disney’s efforts to keep people safe and not adding to the controversy surrounding their safety policies.

Well you can take me off the May 2021 list as I will be heading over to the April 2021 list. My Dad's doctor called and scheduled his hip surgery for early May so my Mom will not be able to travel in May as she will be taking care of him so we had to move our trip up.

I'm so happy for those going the first week of May that were able to get all their ressies! I... was not lol. May 1-8. I've got dining alerts set and Mouse Dining was able to score me two good ones and right now I'm just crossing my fingers and toes and eyes and everything for a Topolino's brunch and Castle dinner. But if they don't happen, my 6yo, who they are technically for, won't even know and she'll just be happy to be there.

Last year we were supposed to go, same week(ish). Her bday is May 6th. Of course we had to cancel and on her birthday her class sang Happy Birthday over Google Classroom and there was a car parade and while it was a fun day, all things considered, I kept thinking to myself "we should be on Splash Mountain, we should be eating in the Castle, she should be at her first ever Bibbity Bobbity Boutique apt..." and this innocent child beamed at me as a fire truck went by with lights flashing, family in cars behind, neighbors on their lawns cheering, and screamed that it was the best day ever. Kids are so sweet and resilient.

Anyway, enough Memory Lane. Congrats to those that are getting their vaccines! I got my first one yesterday under NY's comorbidity qualification (pandemic pounds and depression, wahoo! lol). My next one is 4/10. And if anyone else in here is in NY state, I've heard three people separately tell me that they were calling pharmacies at the end of the day and just asking if they had any leftover doses that might be thrown out and all three got have gotten their first dose like snap, walk in, walk out. My SIL, who is 38, a SAHM, and fit as a fiddle got her first shot this way, just this past Friday.

And in my last bit of WDW news, I was able to change our Bonnet Creek 2bed to a 3bed which is AMAZING for our kids' sleep habits and my sanity, and I've been successfully "getting" a RotR BG every morning in my practice runs!

My husband and I are going without kids from 5/16 - 5/22 to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The first 5 days will be at Disney, then the last 2 we will be at Universal. We haven’t been to Disney since 2008 and the time before that was on our honeymoon in 1996. Neither of us have been to Universal! Considering I’m a huge Disney and Harry Potter need, i am super excited. I’ve set this as a surprise trip so my husband doesn’t have a clue we are going. I’ll tell him on our anniversary in April.

We are staying in a 1 bedroom at Riviera for the Disney stay (5/16-5/20), and the Royal Palms during our Universal stay. The only issue has been finding reservations for dining since we booked late. I have several good ones but would love to go to Olga’s and Toppolino. It is crazy that we are staying at the Riviera but can’t eat at the restaurant there. 😥 I do have Mouse Dining alerts set, so hopefully something will come up. I’m not counting on it though.

I booked dining 2 weeks ago and had a difficult time. Wanted Be our Guest, but couldn't get anything, and I really wanted Chef Mickeys and have been checking multiple times a day now ( a little obsessed! :goodvibes ) and hoping someone cancels for the time we are there!
