Can't get BWV SV studio at 11 months?

Sounds like a situation where walking the reservation may have helped.

Maybe, but the OP didn't call until 11:15 am. If she called at 9 am Eastern, she probably would have gotten it. A waitlist should come through - I'd be very surprised if it doesn't.

Do the wait list. I've always had good luck at exactly 11 months for a standard room until this year.

I couldn't call right at 9 and had to wait until 2 in the afternoon for a reservation for next November encompassing Veterans Day. The first day was already gone for a standard studio by the time I called. So I booked a Boardwalk View and went on a wait list for the standard room for the first night. I called back the next day at 9 and booked the rest of the trip in the standard and kept the first night on the wait list.

Five days later the wait list had come through for the first night. We are now all set for the entire trip.

Easy to do this as long as you aren't in a situation where you are borrowing points for the entire trip.

I was so bummed when I called MS this morning to add 3 more days on our Dec 2011 trip and they have no SV studios left at BWV. I took boardwalk view but really wanted SV for the last 3 days.

Is this something I would waitlist? And what do you think the chances would be.

The Boardwalk view is our favorite! If it's not a huge issue with the difference in points I would keep the Boardwalk view, you won't be sorry. But you will most likely get the standard view if you waitlist now.

I am realizing what a novice I am at the entire DVC thing. I called the following day to do a waitlist and they had the 19th and 20th available so I only had to waitlist 12/18. I am feeling much better and also learning alot!

As for the BW view, I would love it but don't have the points to do it this time and then again in Oct 2012. I think I am starting to get a case of addonitis!!

I would definitely waitlist, but I would also call every couple of days. Because people are changing at their 7 month mark, and because it's still 11 mths out and people change their plans, and change them again, I think you might actually have a shot at getting it during a random phone call.

I thinks it's AWESOME that you will be at BW during Christmas time! Enjoy!

So I finally have my points and have only gotten a couple nights in a standard view. Seems such a waste of points to use them for 'garden view'! I have Standard for 3 nights and then preferred garden view for the next 10 or so nights. When I call that day is booked up so I can't switch anything yet. I am really really hoping that we can switch via waitlists or persistent calling so that we don't have to use all of our points for the trip. Luckily we do have enough to book a preferred room without borrowing though!

I was lucky at 11 months, got SV BWV studio for a week stay beginning December 28. Didn't walk.
