Me and my fiance can't decide which resort to stay at for our honeymoon in October. We are looking for a deluxe. It's between Contemporary, Wilderness, Boardwalk or animal kingdom. Can I please have your opinions?

my FI and I had it down to the Poly or the CR and we went with the 14th floor CR. We liked that we could walk to MK and the marina.

Congrats and good luck with the planning... i am counting down the days and mine isn't until August.

My choices would be honeymoon suite at WL, One of the cottages at Boardwalk or Cont tower room MK view. I would check out the book WDW for Couples.

Kae
I know you wanted one choice but I couldn't help my self :flower:

Tough one. I wouldnt stay at the CR for a honeymoon. It just doesnt seem all that romantic to me. Wl would be rustic and romantic. AKL would also be romantic and exotic and BWV is just a great location.
I would go with WL or AKL.

Of your list, I've only stayed at the Cont and BWI, but have stayed at some you haven't mentioned such as the BC, Poly & GF.

If my DH had asked me to choose between the 4 you mentioned, I would go for the BWI b/c its really close to Epcot (my favorite park). On our trips, we like to spend the day at another park, go home for a nap and then go to Epcot for dinner. We love the options for food at Epcot and the Boardwalk...and being within walking distance after a couple cocktails is grand!

Now, If I had my pick of all the deluxes, it would be a toss up b/t Poly & BC. I just love the BC for some reason and lately we've been staying at the BCV (the DVC resort there). But the Poly is so magical and romantic, I have a special place in my heart for it. :teeth: Then again, on my first honeymoon I stayed tower room GF (concierge) and talk about luxury! If you have the money, go for it!

You really can't go wrong with any of them, they all have good points and bad points. Have you been perusing the AllEars pages to see which one fits your style best? What is your per night budget?

PM if you have any questions!

I'd go with BW, your close to so much. ANd the nightlife is a lot of fun.
Have a great Wedding!

A few questions if you don't mind me asking.

One, will you have a car on your honeymoon?
Each resort has great transportation, but from the research I've done it sounds like the AKL can't compete with the BW b/c of it's water transportation. And I say this grudgingly b/c I'm not a fan of the BW at all. If you don't mind buses though the AKL has an excellent and quick system. Now if you have a car on your honeymoon that makes it so much better b/c you don't have the X factor of needing to be close to everything b/c you can just hop in your car on your own schedule and drive there.

I would steer away from the CR. The only reason I say this is because it doesn't strike me personally as very appealing. A lot of people LOVE the CR however, but I don't see it as very romantic. Thats also the reason my family and I have never stayed there, sure we've explored the place and it's VERY interesting, but just a bit too busy for a honeymoon. However, here they offer thigns like parasailing, water activities, and Chef Mickeys. I personally don't care for Chef Mickeys, but a lot of people LOVE it.

The AKL sounds wonderful, but I'm a bit biased b/c we are spending half of our honeymoon there as well. I let my husband pick it out because he has not been to Disney as many times as I have and he was excited b/c one, it was more secluded, and two, what could be more romantic than seeing animals from your balcony while cuddling after dinner? Thats our take on this resort. The downside is the lack of water activities there, but for us that is not a big deal b/c we are spending the first half of our honeymoon at the Caribbean Beach and will have a chance to there. However, if water activities are important this would not be the best choice.

It seems that WL lovers generally like the AKL as well. I guess they were designed by the same designer? Not 100% sure on that though. But the WL seems very charming as well and you have water activities there, along with that rustic atmosphere. I've never stayed there though so I'll let someone who has fill you in on that place.

Is the Polynesian an option? I've stayed there a few times and it's VERY magical, though not my husbands tastes. ;)

Best of luck with your decision making and happy honeymoon!

I think it depends on what you find romantic and personally appealing. We split our honeymoon between GF/Poly/WL. From our room at the Poly, we had an unobstructed view of the Castle and it was truly magical.....we loved all three resorts for very different reasons. Cont. has no appeal to me and we visited AKL and it was not really our style. If I were choosing, it would be between WL and BWI. If money is a factor, you have a better chance of getting a cheaper room rate at WL and the convenience to MK is great. Never stayed at BWI but love the location!! Tough choice...good luck :)

We were at the WL for our honeymoon and just returned there for our 10th anniversary back in January. We loved it there then, and we love it there now.
But, I don't understand how the CR would not be romantic. I doubt there is a better view of the Castle and Wishes than from one of the upper tower MK view rooms. And then there's the Monorail, and the path to MK. Of course we have never stayed there, but those aspects would sell it to me.

We stayed at CR, wing room and it was okay. We were conceirge but not on the 12th or 14th floor. I am not sure why. The Conceirge did get us some nice perks though. I would go for either BC or WL.

From a guy's perspective, Wilderness lodge villas..Hands down! Very rustic and brings out the "outdoorsman" in us guys(whatever that means) :)

I have stayed at every deluxe at Disney except AKL.

I would steer clear of CR. It does not feel that fresh and deluxe to me, and would not be the ideal honeymoon setting.

I think the most romantic setting of those you mentioned is BWI. Just as nice are its neighbors Yacht Club and Beach Club.

And of course, Grand Floridian is also a wonderful romantic resort, and sometimes it's comparable in price to BWI, depending upon available discounts, time of year and room view and type.

:cool1:

We have stayed at BWI, AKL and WL and you cn't go wrong with any three in my opinion. I would select the honeymoon room at the WL if I had to pick one.
