Can't decide on resort

I have to finalize my resort plans by the end of this week because I am driving my family and anyone who would listen crazy with the flip flopping.

I am torn between the Beach Club, Grand Floridian and Poly. I currently have a reservation at the Beach Club, but I really want to stay at the Grand Floridian but then I have heard such wonderful things about the Poly-what to do:confused3

We are staying for 4 nights before our cruise and there is about a $100 difference per night between the Beach Club and Grand Floridian and about a $80 difference between Poly and Beach Club.

Very hard choice! Alot of it depends just on personal preference. One thing I'd consider is how much time you plan on spending at Epcot or HS vs MK? Poly and GF will be a short monorail ride away to MK, whereas BC will be a 5 min walk to Epcot and short boat ride to HS.
If we are doing a short trip, we prefer being as near to MK as budget will allow. With little kids (and I'll admit MK is my fave as a big kid!) we like to spend alot of time at MK for a short trip, and don't want to waste alot of time traveling. Also consider your dining options. Where are your ADRs booked? If they are based at monorail hotels or parks then consider the time it will take to get around.
We are huge BC fans. For a trip that is 5 days plus (remember its different for us bc we have babies and strollers to get around)-we like basing at BC. We enjoy walking to breakfast or lunch at epcot then going to MK at the end of the day.
My personal choice would be between GF or BC. I don't care for Poly. But thats preference. It has some big fans. Plus I don't know if the construction there is over, but for me having stayed on prop during construction I wouldn't do that again.

We've stayed at all 3 and the Poly is our favorite, followed by the GF. The BC is a nice resort and I'm glad we tried it, but it's not one of our favorites. We prefer the monorail resorts for the larger rooms, great views of the castle, and a variety of CS options (we find the CS options in the Epcot resort area to be lacking). With that said, the Poly is currently under construction and the main pool is closed for refurb until March or April, so depending on when your trip is, my first choice would be the Poly, with the GF coming in second. If your trip is soon and the Poly construction would be an issue for you, you can't go wrong with the GF, IMO. Good luck.

We were booked at the Poly for our February trip, but my wife got too nervous about the construction and we made the move to the GF today. We stayed at the Poly in 2013 and loved the convenience of it. I hope we made the right call!

When are you going? I think there should be a bigger difference with Poly as it is under construction. Have you read the discount threads on the resorts forums? Also check the Tikiman website for Poly info.

All 3 are wonderful. Can't go wrong with any of them. It all depends on what area you'll be in most, how many in the room, and how much you'll be at the resort with a short 4 day stay?

$80 - $100 a night more is a lot if you're not going to be at the resort much.
I'd say BC would be fine. You are walking distance to Epcot, and a 20 min walk or boat to DHS. SAB is the best pool on property, and you have loads of dining options in the area.

Poly is out with construction.

GF is great. Watch fireworks from hotel if not in MK. Good kid area for pool. Monorail is always a +

Beach club with pool is really nice, and walk to 2 parks. Coin flip gf vs bc

No bad choice either way

Just an FYI, BC is currently undergoing a refurb, rooms and pool in stages, so that might be a problem for you. Then again, if you really want to stay at GF, here's the perfect reason to switch! ;)

Thank you for your replies. We are going at the end of August there will be 3 of us, myself and 2 teens. We have 2 day park hoppers because I want to enjoy some resort time. I have looked at every picture and video of the resorts lol. We will spend the early part of the day at AK and HS and the evening emh hrs in Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. I'm thinking a monorail resort will work the best for us.

With the construction at the Poly, I would stay at the GF this year (unless late in the fall, which you are not). If you want a monorail resort, I would choose the GF. However, with 2 teens and it being August, I would choose the BC if the pool refurb is finished!

We were trying to decide between Beach Club and Poly for the end of August as well - only $200 difference between the 2, and both places look great. We ended up choosing the Poly because of the monorail.

I'd go with Beach Club or Poly. Being able to walk to Epcot from BC would be awesome, and you would also be close to HS. Of course with Poly you have the monorail. Are you up for a split stay? If so, that is what I'd do. Stay at BC for Epcot day(s) and Poly for MK day(s).

Having done poly (club) we loved it , but with construction, I'd avoid it. We were there for dinner a few weeks back and the entire feeling was way off. Construction for that price is an instant no for us. I think I'd do GF, also been there and it really is lovely!!!! Bc is great for epcot proximity so I think it too is a great choice. God luck deciding. The only one I'd put off for another trip is poly

For wanting to go to all the parks, I would say a monorail hotel. Due to construction at Poly, the GF would win for me.

I love YC, but the downside, which applies just as much to BC is that it really is only convenient for Epcot. On my October stay the bus rides to MK were both crowded and long. Waits for the bus back after MK were also long and always stuffed full. AK is a bus ride no matter where you stay. HS is, IMO, just a flat out pain the whole way around from an Epcot hotel. You can take a 20 minute, mile walk, which will be longest going from the BC, or wait up to 20 minutes for a boat that plods along to other stops, takes forever to dock, loads people in, takes forever to undock and plods off to the park. Going back at night, there is only one boat for all three hotels and the line to board is super LONG. Or you can make the mile walk in the dark. I finally hopped a bus to MK and then got a bus back to YC.

My choice would be GF. Beautiful resort!! Just stayed in the villas this past Nov.Can't wait to stay there agin!

We booked Poly for end of Aug too, main pool will be open, lobby prob finished, I think the worst of the construction will be done. The East Pool (quiet pool) will be closed for refurb. Check on Tikiman web site for updates and construction time line. I think by August the dust will have settled. The rooms have recently been refurbed, and they are quite spacious. With 2 queens & daybed. So if the teens don't want to share a bed, one can have the day bed.

With two teens and you wanting to enjoy resort time I would go with the BC.

We've always centered our trips around MK but with DS getting older and maybe wanting some freedom (Epcot being his favorite park too) I decided BC was a perfect fit. He could walk right into Epcot by himself or with his little sister and BC has the best pool on property.

We are also going at the end of August and staying at the BC. I passed on poly because of construction. GF isn't really my style.

Never stayed at Poly but would avoid it until construction is completed. GF is by far the nicest and has more restaurant choices BUT the close proximity of BC to Epcot and Hollywood makes it my choice.

It's all personal preference, but we like BC best of the ones you've mentioned. I think it has the best pool, and the fact that you can walk to Epcot and DHS (or boat) is a huge perk. Especially since the monorail hours have been wacky and we saw a few break-downs of it as well. We also spend most of our time at Epcot and can easily do one morning at a different park, and visit Epcot at night even just for a few hours. We also prefer the dining options at YC/BC, and BWI too since it's just a short walk away.

I love Poly too, but I personally would wait to spend the money to stay there after the refurb is done. GF is nice but the decor is not to our taste, and we don't care much for their restaurants.
