Can't decide between O'hana or Kona

We have an ADR for O'hana, but I would really like to try Kona Cafe. We've never eaten at either one before. Should I choose one over the other or try to squeeze in Kona somewhere? Which meal is best? B, L or D?

There will be 4 adults and DD2. DH is highly allergic to seafood. Does anyone know if there will be a problem with cross contamination at Kona since they have several seafood options?

We are going for 8 nights/9 days. Here are current dining ADRs.

Breakfast
Crystal Palace
Spoodles
Chef Mickey's
Cape May Cafe
Fresh

Lunch
Sci-Fi
Trail's End

Dinner
Boma
1900 Park Fare
Whispering Canyon Cafe
House of Blues
Rose & Crown
Le Cellier
O'hana
Casey's (grab hotdogs & eat while we claim our parade spot)

Any suggestions? Should I just go with what I have or eliminate something and eat at Kona Cafe? Opinions are greatly appreciated!

hi! I would guess that O'hana being family style would be more risk for cross contamination. I would choose Kona for breakfast for the Tonga Toast, and O'hana for dinner. O'hana does have the shrimp skewers (or they used to) so you might alert them of the allergies. Have a great time!

When in doubt, I always choose the Irish place:) Seriously, Kona for breakfast is one of the finer meals at WDW.

We love them both. Kona is a nice sit down meal. The steak is awesome. O'hana's is family style so sometimes the food is not as tasty. They do cook on a big grille at Ohana's so I would worry about the seafood allergies.

We've eaten as both for dinner...I'd choose Kona. It was fantastic. We all, even DS(6) really enjoyed it.

We had dinner at both restaurants on our last trip--Ohana's was the worst meal of our vacation, and, surprisingly to us, Kona Cafe was the absolute best!

The food and service were exemplary at Kona. I'm sure if you mention your husbands allergy to your server you will experience no problems.

Ohanas is a beautiful restaurant, but I think they know they can fill the place to capacity because of reputation, so they don't try so hard anymore.

Of the two, only Kona serves lunch. Breakfast at Ohana is a character meal with Lilo and Stitch.

We have eaten at Ohana 3 times and have no plans to go back. Each time the meal was worse. We found the meat to be dry and tasteless.

By contrast, we have had several very good meals at Kona .. breakfast, lunch and dinner. On our last trip, we had dinner at Kona. They had the most wonderful light fluffy bread to dip in seasoned olive oil.

You can call Disney dining and speak with them about your DH's allergies. They are very accomodating.

Flip for one this time next trip the other.
