We are going to be doing a quick weekend in Orlando, mid-Nov. We own at BCV and just added on to SSR. We are going with 2 friends and their todler.

I would love to stay at either. I like the idea of BCV, because of the locale to BW, and the restaurants. But I think SSR would be nice because it is all new and pretty. We haven't stayed at either yet.

Is the bridge/path open to Downtown Disney yet? If it is, then that would probably be my choice this time around.

Would love to hear any input from ya'll!!!

We own at BCV and have stayed there in the past. We toured SSR this past trip and my choice would be the BCV hands down, no contest. SSR just wasn't our cup of tea.

BTW the walkway was open to DTD.

You might want to call and see what's available first. Seems like there are an awful lot of people on the waitlist right now. BCV seems likely to be booked up--particularly with the Food & Wine Fest.

Yes, the walking path from SSR to DD is open. It's reportedly between 10-15 minutes to get to the marketplace.

With the four buildings open now, nearly every room at SSR has a view of Downtown Disney. We can't wait for our stay there in December.

We just came back from WDW yesterday. SSR is lovely, we bought extra points there too. However, just to be fair, it's just not ready for me to stay there. The noise from the construction is irritating, the dust gets all over, the landscaping is mininal at best. The pool was very nice and the area for kids looks great. The food area is more an expensive food court. There is a resturant, however while we were viewing it wasn't opened. Too much of the resort still seems to look like a construction site---which it is.
I'd stay some where else for now!

Where are you planning on spending your time?

If MGM, Epcot and the pool, I would say BCV.

But if you plan to go to the other parks and DTD, go for SSR just to experience it.

Just back from 8 days at SSR it was everything we hoped it would be. Will do a report this wk. Path to DTD is open. from the quiet pool it takes 7 min. not walking real fast.I made sure to time myself. And about the same time to the main pool from the quiet pool.OH and the view at night while swiming in the quiet pool looking at DTD is FANTASTIC !!!!!!!

Need to fix my timer.

Kenics,

I'm also wondering whether to stay at SSR or BCV with my extended family next May. I'm currently reserved at SSR, but tomorrow is my 7 month window, so I'm hoping to decide tonight whether to try to switch it to Beach Club.

I want the BCV pool for my kids, but my brothers are in their 20's and I think they'd enjoy downtown disney and pleasure island. But I also think they'd like the Boardwalk area too.

Decisions, decisions....... (And what a great problem to have!!!)

That sounds very enticing...a lovely view from the quiet pool at night!!

We are going in Dec. and can't wait!

Is the quiet pool open 24 hours like the quiet pool at BCV? Or at least till 10pm?

Thanks

yes the quiet pool is open 24 hrs. the view all along the lake is great!!
