Here's the scene - Planning a trip to the Smoky Mtns next weekend to celebrate our 21st anniversary. Leaving on Wedensday night and coming home Sunday. Balanced the check book last night and found I had subtracted a $300 epayment twice. At work today they announced our bonus was 2% higher than expected.

Next thing you know I'm on the internet looking for cheap flights to Orlando! Found direct flights from Detroit for $290. We have AP's so we booked at POFQ for $110/night. We've never stayed at PO before and we're out of DVC points for the use year so we thought we'd give it a try. Most of the reviews we've seen on the Dis have been good, so there we go!

Guess we'll be just a little warmer than we thought next week.

Since this is a spur of the moment trip we thought we'd not plan anything; no ADR's, no park plans, no nothin. Just go and do what ever strikes our fancy.

We'll let you know how it works out. If anyone is at the Adventurers Club on Mar 1 or at Jellyrolls on Mar 2, give us a yell, we'll celebrate together!

Very cool! We stayed at POFQ years ago and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Have a great time!!!!

Good for you!! :sunny:

My DH and I will be there next weekend also celebrating our 16th anniversary. Okay, so he had to go for a convention and our anniversary isn't really until April 7, but we're going without the kids so I call that a romantic weekend! :thumbsup2 Am I right? :teeth: Hope y'all have a great time too! :cool1:

I just found out my tax refund is almost double than last year!!! I tried to convince hubby to go next weekend but he is tooooooooo practical! Guess 1 os us should be!! Have a great trip!!

We were in the same boat last year for our 20th. Actual anniversary is Mar 2 but we couldn't get away just the 2 of us until May. It worked just fine. I think you are absolutely correct. No kids at Disney, what could be more romantic?
