I'm so conflicted about buying our August tickets. The prices are so much higher than I usually pay. I have a Jetblue gift card, so that offsets the cost somewhat, but I'll still end up paying a lot more than I normally do. I even live pretty close to 6 different airports and still the cheapest for the 4 of us is about $1400. I'm not sure to just buy now or wait a few weeks to see if they go down. Last year we paid about $900 for all of us. :confused3 Man, even while typing that, I sound like I'm whining.

Act now ! Look what happened to me Friday night in less than 24 hours.

2nd update Less than 24hrs.

Saved $1077 on Southwest yesterday for August trip !
Switched airports from PHL to Baltimore ! A 73 mile drive will be worth it with ticket prices going up !!
Bought 5 RT tickets for $221 each :thumbsup2

Update this morning !!!
Less than 24 hours.
My $221 tickets this morning went up to $278 :scared1::scared1:

As of 30 minutes ago my fare is NOW $325 :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I'd wait. Check again Tues - Thur. The original May outbound flight we booked on JB was $192. That was more than I wanted to pay but I was worried about the impact of gas prices so I booked it anyway. That flight ended up dropping $91pp. I called and got a credit for later use. Then we wanted to change the flight time and the "better" flight was $310 pp so I waited and checked it a few time each day. That flight dropped down to $152 so we were able to swing the flight change using the credit + a few bucks OOP. That new flight then went up to $428...

Our return flight has seen similar ups and downs since we booked it.

The takeaway here is that the flights have been both dropping and rising. It hasn't been a one way trip up.

Maybe because my trip isn't until August is why for the past 3 weeks it has ALL been up flying out of PHL to a point where SW is over $438 per RT ticket.
Did switch to BWI saved over a thousand on 5 tickets then jumped up in less than 24 hours, from $221 to $325. :confused3

I was looking to get flights to Lasvegas it was 600 for round trip. I guess we will be driving.

me too but what can we do I paid around $ 280 last year and this year Im paying $ 416.86 pr person and for a grand toal of $1,250.60 for dad,me & sis but with the price of fule it hurting our pockets I think this is the first time the airfare was just short of the disney delux just $ 171.22 short of the total of the dlx dine price... and the kick in the but is that im paying more the fist fligh out and the last one out wher they airlines want me to to take the last out and first inn. the way i see my time on my dime not on theirs ... I am only hopeing that they drop the price so i can get a credit for cmax trip this yr .

we booked Jetblue last week for our August trip- prices are already up over 100 over last week. If you book through jetblue directly you can get a credit if they drop before August. We have had credits in the past without a major hassle!

I was shocked by the prices too! How long are credits good for? Jet Blue's website says 12 months. Do they mean 12 months from the date you booked your ticket or 12 months from the date the credit was issued?

I bit the bullet for Columbus Day weekend. Paid more than we did for the same timeframe last year but I was afraid to wait between it being a holiday weekend and fuel prices. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a price drop and credit though!:goodvibes

I feel your pain, we are about 1400 for 4 of us too...last year I paid $374.80 plus $120. for bags on Spirit.........:scared1:

my experience has been that Jetblue's credits have been good for 12 months from the flight date.

The rep I spoke to said the credits were good for one year from the date they are issued, not the flight date.

This could be a huge difference if you're booking well ahead of time.

Basic Travel Bank Questions
What is a Travel Bank account and why do I have one?
Travel Bank is an online account that allows customers to manage their credits with JetBlue. It replaces the vouchers and credit shells that may be familiar to you. You may have a Travel Bank account if a credit was issued to you or if a crewmember created one for you in advance in order to receive any future credits.

Where do I find my travel Bank account?
Click Here to access your Travel Bank account.

How do I access my Travel Bank account?
You should have received a welcome email from Travel Bank with your login information. Use this login information every time you want to access your Travel Bank account. If you did not receive this email, please call our reservations center at 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583).

I used to get vouchers and credit shells. Have these gone away?
Yes and no. In place of vouchers and credit shells, we now have service credits that are deposited into your Travel Bank account. Instead of keeping track of all your voucher numbers and confirmation numbers, you will only need to have your Travel Bank account number.

I had some vouchers and credits from a previous reservation. Do I still have them?
Yes. These funds should have been moved into a Travel Bank account for your use. If you have not received an email regarding your Travel Bank account, please call our reservations center at 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583).

Do my credits expire?
Most credits are good for one year from the date of issuance, unless noted otherwise. You can view each credit’s expiration date on your Travel Bank statement. When you use funds from your Travel Bank account, credits with the soonest expiration date will be used first. All credits are good until 11:59 p.m. of the expiration date. Also keep in mind, travel need not be completed by the credit expiration date, only a new reservation booked and the credit used as payment by then.

NOTE: If you receive a refund on a flight that was originally paid for with Travel Bank funds (for full or partial payment), the expiration date for these funds will revert back to the original expiration date of the credits that were used to purchase the flight.

example: I booked a flight for February 10, 2011 and I used Travel Bank funds that were going to expire March 29, 2011 to pay for it. I was unable to take the flight and called to cancel. After paying the cancel fee, the remaining funds were placed back into my Travel Bank. The expiration date of that credit will be the original date, March 29, 2011.

How do I know how many credits I have in my Travel Bank account?
You can easily view your current balance and previous transactions on your Travel Bank statement. You can also call our reservations center at 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583) to get this information.

This is good to know. Thanks so much!

Last year I purchased tickets at $69 with JetBlue. This year, for the same week, the tickets are $134!!

I'm glad I gave up on waiting for JetBlue and purchased out of Toronto. I paid $149 last week.

We don't have to drive to Buffalo, stay for 2 nights, park the car for a week. And the best part is we gain *2 extra park days* as we can fly on Mon & Wed from Toronto instead of Tues & Tues from Buffalo!

I looked back at our last 3 trips to Orlando on JB and I guess this year's prices aren't as high as I thought they were when I first saw them. At the current prices, we'd pay $330/person. In 2010 we paid $300, 2009 $260 and 2008 $320. So we're booking our flights today and if they prices drop, we'll request a credit.

I booked Jet Blue cheaper than Southwest. I'm very happy with our rate. Southwest was $400 more.
